Few people doubt Hillary's strength in the Bible Belt. I doubt her strength in the other 37 states. Attorney in Texas Mar 2016 #2

They're both regional candidates. Her region is the Bible Belt. Sanders' region is the 37 others. Attorney in Texas Mar 2016 #8

The Bible Belt is the least progressive region of the country (on issues like collective bargaining rights, a woman's reproductive health liberties, equality for the GLBT community, etc.). Is the centrist former first lady of Arkansas going to beat a progressive Jewish candidate from New York via Vermont?

Probably.

But Sanders is beating Hillary 9 to 3 outside of the Bible Belt. She's looking an awful lot like a regional candidate.

As he is 0 for in the South and concentrated entirely in the MW and NE

Curious why one is regional and the other isn't.

That's what I've been calling the blind spot that his supporters dwell inside to protect themselves from the reality of his voting record and controversial statements. Hillary's somehow a despot for not spitting on Nancy Reagan's grave while she was at the funeral, but Sanders can praise Castro, who straight-up disappeared people and had them murdered during his career as a dictator and his supporters don't bat an eyelash.
