And I believe really good work was done. Perhaps that is how they became friends.

Not too bad if you ask me.

Bernie does work well with colleagues on both sides of the aisle and knows when to stand up to them as well.

Tell you another story, I was with young people active in the Black Lives Matter movement. A young lady comes up to me and she says, you don’t understand what police do in certain black communities. You don’t understand the degree to which we are terrorized, and I’m not just talking about the horrible shootings that we have seen, which have got to end and we’ve got to hold police officers accountable, I’m just talking about every day activities where police officers are bullying people.

So to answer your question, I would say, and I think it’s similar to what the secretary said, when you’re white, you don’t know what it’s like to be living in a ghetto. You don’t know what it’s like to be poor. You don’t know what it’s like to be hassled when you walk down the street or you get dragged out of a car.

And I believe that as a nation in the year 2016, we must be firm in making it clear. We will end institutional racism and reform a broken criminal justice system.

Seems like today is recycling day.

He is pretty clearly referring to his conversation with the BLM activist, channeling her thoughts and comments.

She just makes up a new lie every day. I'd rather someone who told the truth over and over again.

But I suppose we'll know more when we get the transcripts of her $250,000 speeches. I'm sure those will clarify her position.

"It may be hard for your viewers to remember how difficult it was for people to talk about HIV/AIDS back in the 1980s and because of both president and Mrs. Reagan — in particular Mrs. Reagan — we started a national conversation, when before nobody would talk about it, nobody wanted to do anything about it, and that too is something I really appreciate with her very effective low-key advocacy. It penetrated the public conscience and people began to say, hey, we have to do something about this too."

I love that she opens by jabbing at the memories of others, then proves she never knew nor retained a single fact about AIDS, Reagan, Bush none of it.

But you were saying?

"Ghettos" were/are allowed to exist to house minority poor… those who white poor did not want living in their own neighborhoods. Ghettos were a result of redlining, bigotry and racism. Their denizens were and are mostly black and brown receiving little city and public services other than police surveillance and harassment.

We don't say ghetto any more. We say "urban poor" which every dog-whistled is tuned to "black."
