2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumMedical Alert? Is Hillary suffering from mini strokes? I'm concerned.
Given her recent notable memory lapses,
Where was Bernie in 1992 when I was fighting for healthcare
Nancy Reagan & AIDS
No American was killed in Libya
and, given her medical history and history of notable memory lapses (Boznia comes to mind),
I am concerned that she is suffering micro or mini strokes that are going unattended.

(43,888 posts)It's pretty slimy in fact, and unworthy of Bernie supporters.
I don't think Bernie would condone this kind of approach.
There are plenty of policy differences between the candidates to drive a clear choice.
Whatever mistakes or misstatements she has made, let's not go half cocked claiming mental illness.

Attacking Bernie has required every ounce of spin that her team can muster because of the way he approaches his decisions.

(17,493 posts)Unfortunately Jeb simply fell flat on his face.
Just about everybody in power fears Bernie, Trump and Cruz as if one of the three wins the Oval Office the political apple cart might get upset.
Rubio looked like he might become the establishment Republican puppet for a while but it looks like he cant even win in his home state of Florida. Kasich Might win Ohio tomorrow but gather few delegates in the remaining states.
You can bet the big donors and Wall Street will do their best to insure Hillary wins. Once again we will elect a president who promises real change but after she is elected little or nothing will be any different. The rich will get richer, the poor poorer and the middle class will continue to go extinct. Just like always.

Else what... someone may disagree with you?
Quite the forceful consequence that would be, regardless of whether you think she's anointed, chosen, a messiah, or any other petulant pejoratives the GOP used on Pres. Obama.

(1,588 posts)I suspect she's no longer able to differentiate fact from fiction. She says whatever comes into her head at that moment that she feels will benefit her and it automatically becomes her current "truth". She really is a whirling dervish of inconsistent and ever-changing positions.
And, if she ever becomes president, we will see the same thing over and over and over depending what her handlers tell her to say.

(1,089 posts)are hitting a wall right now, and I try to keep that in mind. What they are going through is a meat grinder few if any of us could imagine. There are going to be slip-ups and such from every candidate.
I'm amazed at the stamina of both Democratic candidates. And I hope they're both getting whatever care they need to come through this intact and healthy for the GE and then the next four to eight years of their administration.

If true, that is indeed a serious and painful-sounding medical concern and you should immediately have that looked at by a certified proctologist.

(39,451 posts)about her weight gain. She has really put on the pounds since she left office as SoS.
It could be thyroid or another medical condition.
Or it could be stress.
Has she released them? We should know about her health.
Fawke Em
(11,366 posts)I'm prediabetic. Diabetes runs (Type 1 and 2) in my family and if I don't watch my carbs like a hawk, I gain weight in my chest, stomach and neck like she has. I would blame it on traveling, but, since she's flying in a private jet and isn't poor, I can't fathom why she's not watching carbohydrates and sugar more closely. She (we all) should do that past age 40 anyway (unless we're naturally very thin or very athletic or have a physical job).
I noticed her weight gain, too, only because it mirrors my own. Diabetes, however, is no longer debilitating and shouldn't hinder her, if that is indeed the cause of the weight gain (and I'm ONLY SPECULATING. I certainly don't know). As I said, I noticed WHERE she was gaining weight more than making a judgment. Hell, I gain there, too. I know how it feels.
But, she's issued a statement from her doctor that she's fit for the position.

(39,451 posts)I've put on a few myself so I shouldn't talk. Mine comes from spending too much time infront of this dang computer.
I always gain weight every election year. Nerves and sitting too much.
Fawke Em
(11,366 posts)Most of us do gain weight as we age no matter what we do. I'd rather judge her on her policies. Too many people are judged on their weight, which is crap.
Like Chris Christie. There's so many things to hold against him that his weight shouldn't even be mentioned.

(14,914 posts)or even searching this very site. She is in excellent health. I would imagine being on the campaign trail is not conducive to the best eating, excercise, and sleep patterns. Tipper Gore gained 20 pounds during the first Clinton-Gore campaign.

(49,321 posts)I will support the Democratic candidate. Hopefully it's Hillary.
My wife and I have always tuned in on Bernie through the years whether he was on C-SPAN or talking heads show. Lifelong "liberal" Democrats, we were delighted when he announced his presidential run because we believe his message is so important.
Don't get too stressed by the race or the results. Glad you reached out, civil posters are always a comfort.

(35,015 posts)Now THAT is hilarious. There's gobs of evidence that tell us she is someone else altogether behind closed doors and what we see from her is full on fake. Sometimes liars have a hard time keeping the lies straight, especially when they spend all day talking to the public.

(6 posts)Because those two screw ups (Reagan/AIDS & where Bernie was...) back to back was strange. It seemed especially odd since the Healthcare issue has been so big in this campaign and the AIDS neglect was so bad. It wasn't a little off or little slip. These were way off and elaborated. I really do not like her at all, but I wouldn't use this as a campaign thing. I just happen to think something is wrong.
I'm no doc, but wondered, if not mini strokes, early stage Alzheimer's or some other mental health issue (like the Bosnia thing was really odd, too).
I figure some stuff are campaign lies like 'I've always been for X' when she wasn't, But this other stuff is different.

(4,753 posts)I appreciate it. You see, my Grandmother suffered micro and mini strokes so I'm a bit sensitive to the facts: that they often go un-diagnosed and unnoticed to those other than the sufferer; and can be mysterious, baffling, and confusing, even surprising to the sufferer because there is no pain, no localized sensation.

(1,192 posts)But all of that is only for the time being. All of her lies are gonna resurface, and, in a very undesirable fashion by the RW media.
And then just wait to see. Once the FOX latches onto it, the rest of media will be on it pretty soon.
The GOP isn't saying much about her now but you know they are putting numerous files together. If she becomes the Democratic candidate, she's gonna' get gobsmacked big time!

(92,060 posts)have been if that was Hillary talking at a town hall like that?
If you are honest I think you know the names that would have been hurled at her
and no my point was not even about the Israeli/Palestinian issue, but that will be coming to the front soon enough, since AIPAC has invited all the leading candidates, including Bernie to speak before them, and there were threads from some Sanders' supporters yesterday urging Sanders not to even appear.
I think he will appear, as he should, and I don't think he will make any waves with his presentation there, which will concern some of his supporters

(135 posts)I have had some concerns about her head injury. I know that sometimes they can cause some mild problems that don't show up on scans, and can be made worse with lack of sleep and stress.
I first noted that when she would speak, she appeared, even when speaking with passion, to really need the teleprompter/notes. This is what initially made me start worrying that she may still be having some residual effects from the head injury. Speaking calmly and more deliberately is better. I haven't really wanted to think down this path, but it has been a concern.
The other thought is that she has a crap thryoid doctor and she is undertreated, which is VERY common.

(348 posts)Pick a topic she's for now and google her on it. After planned parenthood which she also has issues with - not supporting late term abortions, she's really not coming up well in google on fact checks.

I am not inclined to give credence to distant arm chair diagnoses coming from health professionals. It is even more troublesome when they are trying to fan flames and create controversy to serve an agenda.
