PHOENIX - Sen. Bernie Sanders is coming to Phoenix for a campaign event Tuesday, according to a source at the campaign.

The Democratic contender is working to catch up with front-runner Hillary Clinton. He's close to Clinton in Ohio and Illinois and leading by a point in Missouri, polls show.

RELATED: Trump expected back in Arizona Saturday

Those three states, along with Florida and North Carolina, hold primaries Tuesday.

Arizona voters will have their say a week from Tuesday, on March 22.

The event is taking place at 1 pm at the South Building of the Phoenix Convention Center, 100 North 3rd Street in Phoenix.

2. starts much later but...

doors open at 1, but he is not expected for several hours afterwards, can't seem to get a bead on the exact time. And it's first come, first served. We can't make it til 4ish, I hope there's room, but would be a consolation to know it filled up before we can get there!
