Don Gray has been nominated to become the next Sangamon County clerk, replacing Joe Aiello, who left the office last month to take a state job.
The Sangamon County Board is expected to vote on the nomination Tuesday night.
Gray, 42, currently serves as the office's chief deputy assessor.
