You can do the addition. Go to the same site and press the GOP popular vote button. Then think about what that means for November. Think hard, particularly if you feel like celebrating tonight.

(36,418 posts)for 2000 and today. Even with the demographic changrs that should be favoring the Dems, we haven't increased proportionally. The GOP have, and that's true in the vast majority of states, particularly compared to 2008. Comparisons with the last election cycle are more accurate, I believe, and that shows a strong trend favoring the other team.

(36,418 posts)And the generally much lower Democratic turnout compared to 08. That seems to be at least as big a problem for us in the General.
A majority of the party generally support their nominee but will they show up and vote in November? The Independents still seem to loathe Hillary and they dwarf both parties. This is grim. Can you show us a path forward other than exhortation to greater unity?
