2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumCongrats to Hillary and her supporters on her sweep
Winning all 5 is a definite accomplishment. Delegate counts will be close or about equal in MO and IL, which allows Bernie to stay in. But she has a clear advantage. I have been criticized for being able to vote for Hillary in the GE, but I can tell you no one wants Bernie to win more than I do. So tonight was depressing for me. But Hillary and her supporters deserve to celebrate. I admire your devotion to Hillary even though I don't see it at all. We go onward..

(53,003 posts)Here on DU. People thought them suitable enough to insult me with and not be hidden by juries. I don't recall your complaining when I and others were insulted that way, but you're upset that I appropriated that language. That's really too bad. Perhaps you ought to encourage fellow Sanders supporters to refrain from using such language toward other Democrats?

(1,748 posts)I guess you liked the term so much you decided to immortalize it.
A search of the site doesn't turn it up. Guess they at least had the good sense to edit it out.

We've also been called the "enemy" and told that Clinton is only supported by "old white ladies."
Far more vulgar and disgusting things have been said to other Clinton supporters individually and then left by juries. One I dare not repeat because others have gotten multiple hides for simply linking to it, but the person who made the insults faced no repercussions.
And yes, I appropriated the insults. I decided not to curl up and cry because strangers on the internet insult me but rather used that language to empower my own political involvement. Whether you disapprove doesn't concern me. That you felt compelled to come into a positive thread and pick a fight says enough.

(13,776 posts)It's such a joy and relief to see positive messages here tonight.
I feel the same way about everything you said, and you said it very well. And like you I will absolutely vote for whoever is the Democratic nominee--I do not want my kids to live in an America that Trump has gotten his mitts on.

(13,685 posts)Doesn't sound at all like the ones that are Trump like: "Leave DU".
But really this 'win' tonight is not much of an accomplishment. Given how new Bernie is and the fact the press is not giving him a fair and balanced coverage, it is quite an accomplishment for Bernie that outside of the confederate states he is right up there and winning most or barely losing.
