Who do Americans think would be the most trustworthy person to lead the nations military? The answer may surprise you. According to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll, the highest-scoring candidate for the post is Democrat Bernie Sanders, who wins a total of 38 percent of those surveyed among Democrats, Republicans and independents. Hillary Clinton also beats out her Republican rivals, placing second with 31 percent overall.
Among Democrats, Sanders and Clinton won roughly similar support within the polls margin of error (61 percent and 57 percent respectively.)
Republicans, meanwhile, dont seem to be fazed by the latest scuffles at Donald Trumps rallies. with a majority of polled party members still thinking front-runner Trump would make the best head of the armed forcesand, by implication, the next president.
When Democrats and independents were added to the mix, a smaller total of 26 percent overall supported Trump leading the armed forces.

(254 posts)The American people are sick and tired of losing blood and treasure in return for vague and non-existent rewards. With Mr Sanders at the helm, one can be sure that blood is never spilt in vain and only wars which are absolutely necessary are entered into.
For Mr Sanders, war is not another military adventure in a far off land paid for by the lives of young, healthy people and the taxes of everyone else. War is simply the absolutely last resort available. If President Obama was able to win a Nobel Peace Prize, a President Sanders would be able to win three.
