Once again, if the transcripts were nothing to worry about we would have seen them by now.

Her bullshit idiotic comment that if the GOP releases all of their transcripts, she will release hers shows you she is hiding something.
Who the hell would be shocked if the GOP praises wall-street? No one.

She is hiding these for the exact reason we expect. Because she said shit to them that a real democrat would be pissed about.

Someone has the footage or the transcripts I hope. If Hillary does not release them I hope someone does.

1. Naw, then you guys would take phrases out of context, ask did she go off script,

was she winking as she spoke, what did she say before and after, etc. You'd never be satisfied.

Fact is, with large audiences, including Democrats, someone would have released accounts if she did much more than give the typical keynote speech about the world from someone with a knowledgeable opinion.

2. You know the best way to avoid this controversy?

Not sell yourself out to Wall Street and the banks to begin with.

But she did. Now this is hanging over her. You reap what you sow Hillary.

Oh, and no, we're not going to let it die. This goes to the heart of the issue for many Democrats; the majority of the party shifting to the right, embracing Wall Street and corporate America rather than the lower and middle class it's supposed to represent.

That voters are fine with overlooking that concerns me that the party has lost its way.

If any other candidate refused to release transcripts, the MSM will be on them like a duck on a June bug. They are curiously silent about it.

6. Oh, so Lady Gaga and Seinfeld, who were paid the same amounts, sold themselves to WS, too?

Yes, I understand that she's different because she's running for President but the idea that you will automatically assume she said something nefarious is ridiculous. She was a private citizen at the time, everything she said would be endlessly dissected and it's really another non-issue.

She should not have said she would release the transcripts, that was a mistake.

What do you think she said to 'sell out'? "Hey, if you support me, I'll make sure that bankers are paid directly by the government?" Or "You guys have suffered enough. Isn't it time all CEOs were given a tax break simply for existing?"

It's ridiculous to keep clutching for straws this way. Since she's likely our next President, and since Congress, given Democratic gains this election (fingers crossed) won't roll over for anything she wants, we'll just have to wait and see and actually make our voices heard on the issues.

7. Gaga or Seinfeld aren't expected to release their tax returns either, but when you run for office

you ARE expected to release them. It is a matter of trust. For some reason, it has been deemed that the public should know. If Hillary was not running for office no one would care what she said to them. But when you are asking to be put in a position of power and trust above people, they expect more from you.
Stop trying to rationalize that Hillary has sold out to Wall Street and corporate America. Deal with it.

So you just made the point for me. Thank you. The private citizen thing- let's be honest, she's been in campaign mode for a while now, whether it's official or not. What do I think she said to sell out? I wouldn't have to guess if I had the transcripts. But I'll tell you this much, the fact that you have one candidate who is in favor of reinstating Glass Steagall, doesn't give speeches to Wall Street, and wants to break up the banks vs one candidate who gives Wall Street speeches for hundreds of thousand of dollars, doesn't release the transcripts, and does not want to bring back Glass Steagall- that is about as stark a contrast as you can get.

I think there is a real divide within our party. Some see us a the party that should be held to a higher standard and be transparent, which separates us from the GOP. Others see this as just what politicians do and if they want to keep things secret, that's ok. That should be a huge red flag. But it's not. It's sad, in my opinion, to see our party just accept this cozy relationship with Wall Street and corporate America. I just don't think that is ok, but maybe it's time for me to move on, though as I've said before- I feel the party has left me, not vice versa.

14. Well, Clinton is definitely an old-school politician. I wish it was otherwise.

But since it's not, I fail to see what positive outcome will accrue to trying to pull down our own candidate. It won't do Sanders any good. It won't do us any good. We make our voices known on the issues. That's where change lies, not in casting aspersions and trying to damage Clinton.

Work with what you have, imo. Especially without a viable alternative. You can still hold out for a Sanders victory if you want but trying to hurt Clinton is not the way to find those 'higher standards' you mention.

That said, any confirmation of Hillary's pro-Wall St. bent would only further ingratiate her with some of her sycophants.
