Both the Illinois Attorney General's Office and the State Board of Elections are now involved, looking into complaints that some people never got to vote, after their polling places ran out of ballots.

People lined up for hours hoping to be able to vote Tuesday night. Several people like Nancy Schodroski, never got to.

"As a voter it was very frustrating, and I am frustrated, I'm angry," Schodroski said.

Voter Ronald Summers feels the same exact anger as he was told to put his number down and was promised a phone call when ballots arrived. He says the phone never rang.

elections in Illinois or any other state. She has no input into how they are handled. That's a state-by-state issue.

... and, yes, it is just plain stupid of them to pull a stunt like this in the primaries.

....and parts of McHenry county you are correct.

McHenry had problems with the sign-in book and was ordered by the court to stay open until 8:30.

Adams county people were turned away.

Sangamon turned voters away without ballots after waiting hours with extended hours.
Kendall closed several polling sites during extended hours, and even turned voters away during those hours at the village hall. Despite a court order to stay open (one person reported to arrive at 7:17, was told they were too late/closed at 7, hours had been extended to 8PM). Other sites that had been without ballots earlier in the day, people returned to vote during the widely reported extended hours and found the locations locked up, and lights off. Issues were prevalent in Kane, Kendall, McHenry, Adams, Sangamon - at least. Adams was one that really stood up for their voters and tried to make it right. Last I read, Lisa Madigan's office argued against Monday's special extended election for Adams county. Wanting to maintain "election integrity" I think I read. I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

That's not all they did. Some of the long time Democratic judges were not contacted to serve, instead they were replaced with new judges.
