1. Bernie Sanders Has Fund-Raiser at Fancy Hollywood Home
Tue Mar 22, 2016, 02:29 PM

Senator Bernie Sanders has repeatedly denounced campaigns that he says are built around their candidates attending fund-raisers. He has insisted he will not “go out hustling money from the wealthiest people in the country,” and declared at the first Democratic debate that he is “not raising money from millionaires and billionaires.”

Yet Mr. Sanders was cheered at a fancy campaign fund-raiser at the Hollywood home of Syd Leibovitch, a high-end real estate agent, and his wife, Linda, on Wednesday night.

Tickets for the event sold for a minimum of $250. Those who spent the maximum, $2,700, or who raised $10,000, were invited to a “pre-event reception,” according to the invitation.

And from a design aesthetic, if you want people to read your gripping photoshop memes, don't put a lot of different colors.

when hc has held 3 this week

from ur link...

But the fund-raiser at the Leibovitch home was the type of event that most politicians typically hold. According to a pool report, guests dressed in blazers, jeans and cocktail dresses were treated to valet parking, and aides estimated about $150,000 would be raised from roughly 300 people there. It was the ninth such event of his campaign, his aides said, according to the pool report.

As Mr. Sanders began speaking to the guests, he joked that the Leibovitch house was a “proletariat” home, and told them, “The truth is there are many people in this country who have money but also believe in social justice.”

I was there, it was not as glitzy as they describe. It was actually low key, people wore casual clothing, some sat on the grass, one of the hosts was wearing a t shirt that said "Fuck politics, vote Bernie".

The Times smear on Bernie is reaching epic levels...

7. No, she's giving a labor speech at a union hall, meeting with tribal leaders

and having a public event at a high school.

Clinton will give a labor speech at 12:15 p.m. at the Machinists Union Hall in Everett. Later, she’ll meet with tribal leaders in Puyallup.

An event at 8:15 p.m. at Rainier Beach High School will be open to the public. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m.

And then, yes, she'll be attending a fundraiser at the home of the very blue, very labor-friendly Costco founder.

Also Tuesday, Clinton will attend a fundraiser billed as a “Conversation with Hillary” at the Medina home of Costco co-founder Jeff Brotman and his wife, philanthropist Susan Brotman. Tickets for the fundraiser are sold out; they were going for $2,700.

Why do people continue to post this lie from some Facebook poster?

8. Curious that there's no date on this, making it difficult to verify

seems to be the standard Sanders' camp obfuscation. It is certianly not literally today, i.e. March 22, 2016.

http://hillaryspeeches.com/scheduled-events/

March 22, 2016 Seattle, Washington Get Out the Caucus Hillary Clinton
March 22, 2016 Everrett, Washington Labor Organizing Event Hillary Clinton
March 22, 2016 Medina, Washington Fundraiser Hillary Clinton

But for the sake of argument we say this is was true for some past day, what it shows is that Clinton is, rightly, turning her attention to the general election.

Clinton is effectively done campaigning against Sanders, so, um, turn the lights off on your way out.

9. There was a guy who talked about this issue yesterday on Thom Hartmann's show
Tue Mar 22, 2016, 03:36 PM
Mar 2016

He was from Seattle and said he had rented Key Arena (where Bernie had just held a rally to a sold out crowd with a spillover crowd outside the arena) several times for events in the early 2000's. He said back then it cost $30,000 for 6 hours, before electricity, sound equipment and other operating expenses. He said that with everything the bill was normally about $48,000 for 6 hours.

The caller then pointed out that there was no admission to Bernie's rally even though the campaign had incurred all this expense, that it was free to the public. Here is an article on what the Clintons were doing in the Seattle area:

http://www.seattlepi.com/local/politics/article/Clinton-is-coming-Will-she-come-out-of-6894104.php

<The venue will be the home of Costco co-founder Jeff Brotman and his wife, Susan, who entertained President Obama in 2012. Basic admission is $2,700, with a heavy- hitter reception honoring those who have raised as much as $50,000.

The $50,000 tab is even higher than the $17,200 charged at a 2014 Obama fundraiser hosted by Costco's other co-founder, Jim Sinegal.

When the ex-secretary of state was here for a 2014 signing of her book "Hard Choices," head table tickets to a Clinton Foundation fundraiser went for $50,000.>

<If the Brotman event sounds pricey, daughter Chelsea Clinton is holding a luncheon fundraiser the same day. Admission for those under 35 is $100, regular tickets cost $250, and for $1,000 you can attend a private reception with the former first daughter.

Hillary Clinton was in Seattle last June for a $2,700-a-person event at the Madison Park home of Janet Wright Ketchum. She has had other high-budget private events over the years, with such hosts as Zumiez CEO Tom Campion and his wife, Sonya, and shipping executive Stan Barer and wife, Alta.

Sen. Bernie Sanders held one fundraiser during his Seattle visit last August. It was held at the Comet Tavern and cost $200 -- less than regular tickets to the Chelsea Clinton luncheon.>

<Bill Clinton came to the Northwest 13 times during his eight years in the White House.

Hillary Clinton has mixed only with those who pay.>
