(1,217 posts)registrations to find they have been flipped in closed primary states---CA, NY--and some in OR and IN. Callers to Thom Hartmann yesterday said theirs were flipped in NH.
I keep saying something is rotten in Denmark and we need an FBI investigation.
Everybody--check your registration.

(11,197 posts)1) stuff the ballot box with early voting forms
2) do whatever it takes to keep voting on polling day to an absolute minimum, including throwing a wrench into the voter registration info.
Clinton had the benefit in terms of early voting because she was well known from the start. As Bernie gained momentum and began to make challenges at the polls, they needed to ensure that they could limit access. What better way that to have a computer "hiccup" and bam...you get a provisional ballot, and you get a provisional ballot, and you too get a provisional ballot. That's why AP called the AZ race for Clinton with only 1% of the vote in (the early voting), and with thousands of people still standing in line to vote. AP knew the provisional ballots would not be counted, so they called the race on the basis of the mail in vote.

(1,217 posts)and it's intact. I also will be changing mine to indie after 44 years as a Dem. They have pushed me around long enough. And--why isn't the DNC jumping up and down and screaming? Crickets.
Glad you loved the Birdie--here is something else for you.

(10,164 posts)I wonder if there is a specialized software package that many states' registration officials use, and one or more versions of that software (not every state may be on the same version) have a glitch? I offer this as an alternative to some sort of nefarious conspiracy...
Land of Enchantment
(1,217 posts)when Jeff Weaver said Bernie's data had possibly been hacked months earlier and they had asked for an investigation by the DNC. It took a lawsuit to force the DNC to return access to Bernie's OWN data. I am no computer expert but my spouse is and says it would be extremely difficult but it could be done. Not putting on my tinfoil hat but I have a damn good 'third eye' if you will--- and strongly sense there is something 'coordinated' going on...

(3,160 posts)They could accuse Bernie as soon as their plant accessed the Clinton data, but the entire time they were scooping up Bernie's data. I knew it then and soon it will be proven. The lawsuit against Debbie the Freak MUST continue. I AM afraid Bernie will not pursue it to the fullest. Maybe he won't need to but I wish to see justice done to that fucking putrid piece of shit Debbie.

(22,911 posts)It should happen to Republicans with the same frequency as Democrats, and to Bernie supporters at the same rate as to Hillary supporters. That may well be the case, but there needs to be a watchdog function to make sure that is the case. And people should check their own registration status to be safe.

(58,513 posts)Some people tend to automatically jump to conspiratorial conclusions anytime there is a mistake. AZ, for example, was a fuckup that affected everyone in both parties.

(22,911 posts)Seriously, I don't. In Arizona the choking off of polling places affected election day participation, not early voting. It has been a primary season near constant that Sanders closes gaps and often pulls ahead only through late deciders, and people who tend to vote on Election Day itself. That was dramatically true in Arizona. Bernie won by almost as large a margin among those who voted on Election Day as Hillary did with those who voted early. But election day voting numbers were depressed. Even if there was no conspiracy involved the effect probably wasn't equal.
Plus there seems to have been an abnormally high number of party affiliation changes that disenfranchised voters participating in the primary. That may very well be random. Or it could hurt all Democrats more, or it could have hurt one candidate more. Yes it would take a conspiracy to make the latter happen and I am not saying that there was one. But it isn't impossible. The DNC vendor that allowed the firewall of Democratic Voter data to go down was made public when a Sanders staffer used that access and the Sanders campaign then flagged it. However it was just as possible for a Clinton staffer to have used that access as well, or even previous to the incident with that Sanders staffer. So advance info on voter leanings was theoretically available to be exploited in Arizona.
Do I think that likely? No, but I do not rule it out entirely. Whether through partisan design or incompetence Arizona did fuckup, and I support the call for a full Federal investigation of what happens.

https://secure.sos.state.or.us/orestar/vr/showVoterSearch.do?lang=eng&source=SOS
ETA: with Oregon's new motor voter law, if you weren't registered before and now you are, you will be registered as unaffiliated. That is if your first registration is from the motor-voter law, you will need to update your registration to Democratic Party in order to vote in the dem primary.

(1,701 posts)I just checked mine and it is correct, but it is good advice for everyone to check. There have been too many irregularities so far, and I am sure there will be many more once we get to the GE. What happened in Arizona just enraged me! I fear it is the harbinger of things to come.
