When I look up those states on Wikipedia, I see the ethnicity demographics listed and white is in the majority by double digits.
How can it be said she wins those states because she wins the black vote? Are their any states with blacks as the majority?
Has there been a recorded-tally process of votes in the south that showed black persons where the majority of voters in the south? That white voters were the minority voting democrat in these caucus' and primary's?
I truly do not like this grouping of ethnicity and gender overall and I question this meme of 'HRC has the black vote' as erroneous. Did she win south states for other reasons?

(711 posts)ethnicity demographics of the Democratic Party down South. In Alabama, Obama only received 8% of the caucasian vote. Here, the caucasian vote is assumed republican. The poll workers even tried handing me and my partner republican ballots on primary day.

(1,000 posts)- Southern states have higher percentages of black people
- Almost all black voters are Democrats
- Thus if black voters overwhelmingly choose a candidate it's pretty much impossible for that candidate to lose

(37,428 posts)Ethnicity is one of the few questions asked, and that info does get used to draw conclusions, such as African-American voters leaning heavily toward Clinton.

(6,110 posts)For example, in SC 55% of Democratic voters are black.

The next largest "bloc" for Democrats in these Southern states is white women. The percentage of white men (like me) who vote Democratic is relatively small.
ETA That should be Democratic, not Democrat.

(10,721 posts)Not the demographics of each state's overall electorate. Persons of color make up a high percentage, though maybe not a majority, of the Democratic electorate in many states--not just those in the Deep South.
