Today, another reminder that SCOTUS matters.

If the Bernie or Busters have their way, and Trump becomes president, cases like this will go against unions. Not that Susan Sarandon has anything to worry about, but if you either belong to a union, or care about others who do, take notice.

Unions Win Fee Victory as Supreme Court Ties 4-4

WASHINGTON — A case that seemed poised to deal a major blow to public unions ended in a 4-4 tie on Tuesday at the Supreme Court, effectively delivering a big victory to the unions.

When the case was argued in January, the court’s conservative majority seemed ready to say that forcing public workers to support unions they had declined to join violates the First Amendment.

But the death of Justice Antonin Scalia in February changed the balance of power in the case, which was brought by California public schoolteachers who chose not to join unions and objected to paying for the unions’ collective bargaining activities on their behalf.

There are people and things out there for whom this choice is life-and-death. One of them is representative democracy.

worry about. I guess when you're no longer in a position where your humanity and basic human rights are at stake, you forget just how dangerous it is. Repealing Roe won't affect Susan or her family, thus she can choose to ignore the cases on the docket. It's not important enough to Bernie for it to be a litmus test, and he's said nothing about contraception and Hyde will affect his health care plan.
