Hillary’s Lies, Damned Lies, & Statistics Are Sinking Her Ship

By SlickLion, Socialist Times

They say there are three types of lies in this world, lies, damned lies, and statistics. The mainstream media has deployed them all in hopes of killing off Bernie Sanders’ campaign, and on Saturday the people declared that they aren’t buying them anymore. One of the statements repeated over and over again on Time Warner (CNN); was that Washington State was a nail in the coffin for Obama in 2008. In a world without social media or alternative media like the Socialist Times, Hillary Clinton would be nailing that coffin down right now. But, we don’t live in that world anymore.

The world has changed for the better. Mainstream media has lost it’s ability to control the narrative of presidential elections. This loss of control, couldn’t have happened at a better time and for a better candidate than Bernie Sanders. If you’ve spent this entire election cycle watching Time Warner (CNN) or Comcast (MSNBC); who are major contributors to Hillary Clinton’s campaign; you might be asking yourself why hasn’t Hillary won this election yet. The answer is simple, she has never had this election in the bag. Normally mainstream media would do what it has been doing for months, which is to create narratives about how impossible it is for Bernie Sanders to win. After listening to the biased logic of paid pundits, the people would typically change their vote to that of the presumed winner.

This election however has alternative media and nearly all of those paid pundits have been called out for their connections to the Clinton Machine, and their logic has been deconstructed. The deconstruction has been so complete that the voters are becoming incredibly disturbed by what they’re hearing and seeing. Most of the people voting for Bernie Sanders aren’t #BernieOrBust, but they have real concerns about the amount of lies they’re seeing and hearing. And they’re finding it harder each day to declare that they will tow the party line come November.

Bernie’s supporters are fed up with the Democratic Party. They see little to no action being taken on climate change, and they know Hillary is for fracking and is being paid by big oil. They see endless wars, and know that Hillary is a neo-con and proud friend of Henry Kissinger. They see the working class spinning it’s wheels because of Clinton’s free trade deals, and it’s putting their children’s future in danger. Simply put; there is no good reason to vote for Hillary if you’re a progressive; and it’s getting harder to hide that fact online. The lies, damned lies, and statistics, have caught transactional politicians in an undertow, right when the rising tide of the truth is just beginning to roll in. Those standing near Clinton, should be advised that it’s time to start rethinking their commitment to her and start telling the truth.

2.5 million more who have voted for Clinton than Sanders. That some assume their own wishes trump the rights of the majority demonstrate their opposition to democracy and equal rights.

No one is stopping any of you from getting off the computer and working on turning out the vote. What we object to is the constant refrain that the votes of the majority don't exist, don't count, and should be erased because a self entitled minority are certain they are the only Americans who matter.

You don't like the TV, turn it off. I don't watch TV news myself, but I can do basic arithmetic. You don't have to, but you also don't get to enforce control over what others say and think.

One person, one vote. Deal with it. That ultimately is what some refuse to accept.

Those numbers are votes, votes cast by American citizens.

In other words, the votes of anyone but a self entitled few are "lies."

We have been hearing this constant whining about the media for ages. Bernie has outspent Clinton in ad revenues in state after state. He has bought plenty of media. He is still losing.

For months people here have insisted Clinton didn't stand a chance. We've had a deluge of internet media reports about how she is doomed and Sanders is so superior. Well it hasn't borne fruit, and you all still complain incessantly about the media. You support a candidate who insisted the votes "of the confederacy" are less than those in the states he has won, that the votes of the few outweigh the votes of the many. You have a campaign whose chief strategist has explicitly articulated a strategy to seize the nomination without winning a majority of the earned delegates or the popular vote.

Despite being trounced by Clinton in five states Tuesday, the Sanders campaign told reporters this week that not only do they expect the second half of the primary to add to their delegate count, they also believe Clinton’s pledged delegate lead might start to erode if pledged delegates see Sanders doing well and decide to support him instead of Clinton. . .

Sanders senior strategist Tad Devine made the case Wednesday on a call with reporters that, despite pledged delegates getting their spots based on Democratic votes in primaries and caucuses, they are free to switch which candidate they represent based on personal preference. He pointed to the Jimmy Carter campaign in 1980 and said that before Carter won the Democratic nomination, the campaign was “deeply concerned about the defection of pledged delegates.”

“We don’t have a plan at the moment to be calling all the Clinton delegates, you know, once they get selected and try to persuade them individually to be for Bernie Sanders,” Devine said when pressed by a reporter. “But we do believe that if we can succeed in the second half of the process as much as Hillary did or even more so, that there will be enormous pressure on people who are going to be delegates at this convention to do the right, responsible thing.”

Realizing Sanders trails greatly in earned delegates and popular votes, the strategy has shifted to overturning the results of elections that have already taken place and disenfranchising the majority of voters in order to promote one man's career. There could be little more anti-democratic and anti-egalitarian than that.

Winning if the mainstream media covered him. Now he's winning* because the media has no power.

Winning in this case apparently defined as being behind in delegates and popular vote.
