A poll released Friday shows that Bernie Sanders has significantly narrowed the lead Hillary Clinton once claimed in New York.
The new Emerson College poll (pdf) shows Clinton leading Sanders among Democratic primary voters in the state by 18 points56 percent to 38 percent. That marks a significant drop in support for the former secretary of state since the same poll was taken less than one month ago.
The mid-March Emerson poll showed Sanders trailing Clinton by 48 percent; she claimed 71 percent compared to his 23 percent.
The new results also show Sanders having gained 6 points with African Americans and 23 points with Hispanics since the previous poll. The one group Sanders claims a lead over is young voters, having 60 percent of support from those aged 18-34 compared to Clinton's 36 percent.

This was taken on April 6 and 7th. Good news, Bernie is fast closing the gap.

(40,656 posts)its online. read it. As for the drop, it probably will continue with bill's thing and all the rest. Attacks don't make people like someone more. She started high negative and she can only go higher. Her past performances show her never going up after it begins.

That sounds like a mis-statement to me.
It'll sort itself out in the next poll.

Looks like the Latinos are vacating her fast.

(39,961 posts)Everybody with a functioning brain and with an iota of goodness inside of them is flocking to Bernie.
The people said they didn't want Hillary Clinton in 2008. With every advantage under the sun, here comes Hillary losing in 2016.

(112,127 posts)actually believed that the March poll from Emerson was correct. The Emerson College poll has a "C+" ranking from 538. However, I also knew that the later result would be used to start a conversation that Bernie was catching up and I was right. We'll see if Bernie can catch up any more which will probably be difficult since it is a closed primary and the time to switch party affiliation was months ago.
Why there are the beginnings of complaints about not letting indies vote.
