Don't you think the guy feels some obligation to the all the people who came to his rallies and gave their hard-earned money? Not like they were Wall Street billionaires.

(2,039 posts)I remember 2004 when Kerry lost. Unfortunately Bush won by 3% in the popular vote. 51-48. I just had to accept it. It was hard but we lost.

that needs some money, so be it. I cannot give
much, but his message is worth so much more!

(568 posts)millions and scare the shit out of Hillary and the establishment. Yeah, it would have been a Cinderella story if he was on top right now but what can you do. I think what is happening is bigger than a presidency. He has impacted American politics more than Hillary ever will. And its not over.

He has done something pretty amazing and I am glad for his candidacy.

(568 posts)some shake em up campaign season. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings. The pressure is really off Bernie right now. All he needs to to is stay on message and stay healthy. YOU GET A GOLD STAR BERNIE. JOB WELL DONE. When think how deeply moving this campaign has been and continues to be. So many moments. So many beautiful people being brought together He has planted a beautiful bold vision moving for America that will be hard to erase from the country's consciousness. An unwavering and decent man with more guts than anyone.

(3,075 posts)but I was blocked.
there are 850 people blocked, and 405 subscribers... you've blocked twice as many people as you have subscribers... what's up with that?

(3,146 posts)The difference is that I have no interest in congratulating a group of people that for the most part only offer rolling smiley faces and gifs of people rolling their eyes and so on. I'd like to think that I'm on a site with other mature liberals, so I just pretend they're not even here.

I was going to write that I support Bernie but would support Hilary if she wins the nomination but I couldn't say that as I was blocked.
I wonder if blocking is often intended to portray pro-Bernie people as jerks, this as posters cannot post mild things and Hillary promoters get to call Bernie supporters extremists while Bernie supporters, blocked as they are, cannot contradict that narrative.
Go Bernie!

The upthread posts pretty much make the point.
"The refusal to grant victors legitimacy bundles together so much about America today: the coarseness of our discourse; the blind tribalism coloring our debates; the elevation of individualism far above common purpose; the ethos that everybody should and can feel like a winner on every day."
The ideal has shifted from a colloquium in which everybody listens to decide on what the common good is and how to achieve it to a post-game brawl in which the common good is making the other team eat dirt.
Embarrassing, actually, but how much of the world is run. Very East European, c. 1923.

(1,065 posts)Most of us wouldn't be voting in the election, Bernie's the one who brought us out. First vote ever for Bernie, not corporate status quo. I only feel sorry for the people not ready for change. Too bad, it's coming, wonder if the Democratic Party will be apart of it? Time will tell.
