of the contiguous United States by percentage. Oklahoma is a fairly diverse State unless you discount the Native Americans, Latinos and persons of multiple races as you do Tarc. The percentage of white people in OK is similar to that in Illinois or the US as a whole. Your own biases are glaring here Tarc.

of Sanders. He still only won that because he did better with white voters than Clinton did. He got trounced when it came to black voters (71 to 27) and he lost all non-white voters by 15%. He won because he managed to appeal to more white people than Clinton could 36% to 56%. Had they split white voters 50-50, he would have lost resoundingly.

Yep. I know DeBlasio may think he gets a pass because of his wife but he really doesn't. It was no where near the "racism" that clueless Sanders supporters tried to pretend that it was, but white folks still need to leave CPT jokes alone.

There is no cognitive dissonance in supporting someone and yet seeing their faults. Hillary's joke did fall flat. DeBlasio thought because he's married to a black woman, he's got enough insider cred to tell an insider joke, and Hillary went along. They were wrong. White folks don't always get it right, even the ones who are not necessarily rabid racists.

Obama's joke about Hillary is funny to me, and he is right, white folks should avoid certain jokes. It also helps that I'm a huge Obama fan - I supported him in 2008, and probably still would have if he ran again. I now support Hillary, warts and all. I can laugh at myself, and I can laugh at my chosen candidate.

I posted several posts saying while she may not have been racist, it was the use of the joke in a position of power that indicated a disconnect with people that are minorities. It was the fact she uses these things like tricks or tools to her advantage I found distasteful. I don't think she "went along with it" though. I think she was just as game. She did the hot sauce joke the very next day which was far more racist to me because she thought, what is the one thing in my bap people listening to this show would want to hear about...oh hot-sauce, because that fucking matters for a president of the US to use hot sauce. One of the guys talked a little smack back to her about maybe she should cut back because she was coughing a bit too much.

Sorry to be ignorant, but what was the controversy there?

And you're right, her and DeBlasio's joke showed a disconnect. But Bernie's comments about People of Color also fell flat. White people don't always get it right. But neither of our candidates is exactly a rabid racist.

I hope you are not talking about the faux rage over the ghetto comment. There is so much wrong with people's reaction to that I can hardly contain myself when a person brings it up...

But this is the hot sauce one, it angered many people of color out side of the bubble here. I found it was stereotyping since she went right for it in her literal bag of tricks (the one she does not carry, her aid does).

Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton's attempt at scoring some cool points went pretty far south on Monday morning during a visit to radio show The Breakfast Club. During a sitdown with Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee and DJ Envy to continue her push to reach New Yorkers before the New York primary this week, she made a statement that has some people giving the candidate some serious side-eye. Clinton claims that she, just like Beyoncé, always has hot sauce in her purse.

Twitter, of course, has been relentlessly clowning Clinton for co-opting the famous line from Bey's "Formation," — "I got hot sauce in my bag, swag." Skip to 25:00 in the video below to see Clinton answer the question, and then see how Twitter dragged her for it

Yes, the ghetto comment. I did not feel particularly outraged about it, but I did think it was part of a pattern that showed him to be a little bit out of touch. Also trying to show his Civil Rights cred did not really work.

I think both Hillary and Bernie are fundamentally decent, and committed to equal rights and racial justice. They both have their flaws too. They both pander, and they both sometimes come over as tone deaf.

It is like if I went to my black friend's house for a dinner party and brought fried chicken. It is something that is a stereotype, not matter how good your chicken is, or if you are personally known ad the fried chicken king (or queen)...you just need to be aware of stereotypes and try to avoid them. I linked you an article from BET that cited black twitter...so it is not some pastey white pundit or even some talkingheads having issues, this is people of color, and if they have a problem with it, then there is a problem with it.

As for Bernie's statement, you are kidding me. He was asked by BLM, and he responded directly to BLM saying if you are white you don't know what it is like to grow un in a ghetto, poor, adn get stopped by the police. Then a bunch of stupid racist and opportunistic white people jumped on him saying you can be white and poor, and not only black people live in the ghetto. HE IS A FUCKING JEW! THAT IS WHERE THE FUCKING TERM GHETTO COMES FROM! IF ANY ONE HAS A RIGHT TO TALK ABOUT IT, IT IS THE PERSON THAT LOST FAMILY IN WW2 FROM THE GHETTOS! He was not saying all black people are poor, he works with plenty of people of color that are most likely far better off than him. Nor was the guy that spent all of his life fighting for the working man saying white people are not poor! He was clearly saying that we as a nation do not know what it is like to be born of a system that keeps many people of a certain color down, in poor areas, repressed by the police. He was trying to put forth the message for BLM, you know the people that attacked him in his Seattle visit? The response to his statement was the most disgusting piece of insincere jingoistic crap. I am fucking white, I grew up with NO electricity, I lived in fucking trailer parks, I went to the black school in our town, and my wife and her family made far more money than me and they are all black. Thanks for reminding me how much more I hate HRC by bringing that up.

She has mentioned it a few times, good for her, she does not carry around her bag, she has that lady do it for her. You are blind to racism if you do not see any issue with it. I love watermelon, more than my wife or any of her family do at all. If I buy one I am the only person in the house that eats it...the whole f@cking melon. But if I went on a news show with a bunch of people of color I did not know, and they asked me what I like to eat...and I said watermelon???? That would be fucking stupid and I would deserve a smack down. They were not asking her about her hot sauce, she could have said her Blackberry since she basically broke several laws just to use it in the past....she could have said anything, but she pulled a fucking Beyounce! That is the point. She has not said that hotsauce once in a good while...and she just happened to drop it with the young black interviewers? That is why Black twitter mocked her for days. But hey, a very large group of black people thought it was fucked up, so go ahead and tell them not to be upset. What the hell is wrong with our party these days!

I started out trying to be neutral on here, but I got sick and tired of the f@cking race card being played. I have lived though and seen some f@cked up sh!t and is some privileged keyboard warrior thinks they get the right to abuse racism and sexism for their own gains it makes me physically angry. Like i have mentioned, in our caucus some white rich older lady got up and spoke saying none of us Bernie cans would vote for him is his name was Bernice...800+ people all booed and hissed her for several minutes. When they finally stopped and she tried to say something more a disabled vet in the back snapped, and began yelling that she has no right to make these claims, he fought for this country and was injured, he was not voting against her because she was a woman, he was voting against her because she would send more people to die. He was physically shaking, you could tell he was reliving something. People rushed him to try to quite him and he started screaming at everyone. There are things you DO NOT fuck with...and Hillary's team has done so in spades.

So for the record why don't you tell me his MISTAKE? Spell it out for me, I want to know how an older Jewish man trying to talk about race inequality on a national stage was wrong?
