1. My understanding is that they were put in place to do exactly that

The super delegates were put in place as a fail safe when the party decided they could not trust the people to put in place a party approved candidate. So, really, you should probably write the DNC if you don't like the way the process works.

The super delegates are voters, just like everyone else, except with more power. I would expect any candidate to court those voters and to plead their case until those voters have cast their votes.

18. Not true

They were put in place to make sure the candidate with the most delegates wins the primary...McGovern won with about 25% of the popular vote...and we see how that turned out.

3. Well, the will of the people has to be known first

All of the people. The ones who have not yet voted and the ones who did not get to vote due to voter suppression of one kind or another.

17. I don't fault people thier hides. This jury system is broken

I have been hidden for saying Hillary is a corporate candidate.
I saw someone else hidden for saying Howard Dean has sold out.

I feel no guilt whatsoever about that.

I take them at their current post, . . . and this post really says nothing. Hillary's SDs are thwarting the will of the people because Bernie can win a state by Yuuuuge margins and yet Hillary gets all the SDs. THAT is unDemocratic.

5. That is their whole reason for existing. They are just an extension of establishment control

over the process, not unlike flipping vote totals on EVM's, or frequent "software errors" that change voter registration info in ways that always seem to benefit the establishment candidate, etc. It's the power the establishment holds and wields to defend itself against any upstart candidate that would dare to challenge their income model.

6. Bernie and his supporters were 100% against it

a few months ago.

I guess we are suppose to forget that now.

7. I think it's disgusting for SDs to ignore the will of the people, for example

Michael Bennet. There are several others but since I can't stand him I'll type out his name.

9. what about Nina Turner to name one

who is in a state that Bernie lost by double digits and is voting for him. Or is it OK if the candidate for whom the delegate votes is Bernie?

11. I hate them. We should get rid of them. They represent the establishment. BUT

if they serve my purpose, maybe they are OK just this one last time.

12. Oh you think so?

Really? My state Minnesota overwhelmingly went for Bernie. And both of my Senators Franken and Klobuchar are in the bag for Clinton.

So tell me. Is this just fine by you?

TIA.

13. One superdelegate vote can negate thousands of votes cast. That's disenfranchisement.

Imagine being one of the people who stood in line for 5 hours to vote, only to learn it didn't matter.

14. It's not the asking that's disgusting--it's the existence of SDs that's disgusting.

Get the fuck rid of them.

16. That is what they are doing right now Is that what you are referring to?

I mean, Bernie wins a state by 20-40% and more and yet all the super delegates go to Clinton. THAT is overturning the will of the people.

Trying to tell them that they should vote WITH the will of the people in their state is trying to make it MORE Democratic. That is what Bernie is saying.

That what you meant?

19. Then why did so many superdelegates declare themselves HRC before their primaries or caucuses?

Riddle me that.
