2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhen Polling Data is Corrected for Independents, Hillary vs Trump is a Coin Toss, but Bernie..
...vs Trump is a Win of Historic Proportionseuters polling is great because it allows you to filter down by party preference and other demographics. I discovered they only included 10% Independents, but as we all know, Independents are at least 42% of the voting population (which is why Indiana was a big surprise to the media).
Once the data is corrected, Bernie beats Trump 70% - 30% in the general election and Hillary scrapes by at 50.2% to 49.8%.

(10,476 posts)What's the point of these largely fanciful head-to-head Trump-Clinton & Trump-Sanders comparisons? What is your endgame?
1) A last ditch effort to sway voters in the remaining states, even though he'd need 67% in every one?
2) A effort to sway the superdeelgates to jump and vote for Sanders, even though he will not win the pledged delegate count?
3) Just a simple "I told you so!" and/or "You'll rue this day! Rue it!" act?

(1,182 posts)It's people having--god forbid--a discussion on a discussion board. But no, every one of these threads rapidly fills up with a herd of people saying the same crap over and over: "You're delusional," "It's math," or accusations of secretly hoping for Trump in an effort to kill the conversation. It's always the same handful of bullies too.
Why does mere discussion bother all of you so much you feel like you have to squash it?
