Here's how Facebook is f'ing with you
So on my feed I get posts from Cenk. And he posts an article from Salon titled...
This is one weak nominee: Hillary Clinton’s problem isn’t Bernie Sanders. It’s Hillary Clinton The current layout of Facebook is that when you see a post from someone to whom you subscribe, below it you will see a "People also shared", which is the same as the Amazon, "May we suggest" below a product description. Below the article from Salon, Facebook determined it would be good for me to click on the following three links: PEOPLE ALSO SHARED It was like I somehow ended up in the DU Hillary Clinton Group. LOL

1. Facebook makes a lot of money that way. Groups pay to promote their pages.
For some community work, I've done this, promoted a Facebook "Community" page.
You can buy likes, a few dollars for a few dozen likes. And I'm sure that bigger buys result in landing first or second in those recommended lists. Pretty brilliant, how data mining and sharing and selling visibility on a FREE social media thing made whats-his-name a billionaire! |

2. I always go through
FB's little ritual of identifying said posts as "offensive" or "spam." I don't like being spoon-fed Hi11ary's propaganda.

8. For a middle aged person like me, facebook is pretty annoying
but the reality is that it is a platform where people are going and being influenced. The social media landscape is critically relevant to politics now.
