Clinton will not lose this! Why? - numerous reasons.
1. Trump is a horrible candidate and human being.
2. Electoral Math - Trump needs to run the table of all swing states.
3. Team Obama will be out in force during the last three months, thus motivating voters to solidify his legacy.
It will be close, in the range of 271 to 296 Electoral Votes, but she will pull out a victory.
EDIT IN JUNE: I meant 371 to 396 range! Seriously I didn't see the Trump meltdown coming this fast.
This from a guy who thinks she sucks as a candidate and as a person. That being said, it is my opinion. No need to post daily about all of her shortcomings, just as there is no need to have numerous posts calling for Bernie to drop out.
EDIT IN JUNE: O.K., time for Bernie to drop out.
Toughen up Clinton supporters, you are going to really start seeing the Republicans and media start tearing in to her, and her numbers will continue to drop. Better now than September, she can rebound, win her prized possession and be President for a term.
EDIT IN JUNE: The Repubs will rebound, I think June is lost for them. They will go into extra hate mode in July, most people will be too busy to notice, she will bounce back, repeat in September, bounce back in October!
For my latest can't miss prediction! UTAH IS IN PLAY!!!!!! Seriously the Mormons hate Trump more than they hate liberals.
Instead of bright red it will be mauve, within 10 points.

(8,419 posts)And this will be an incredibly ugly election. Her savior will be Obama constantly mocking Trump.

(311 posts)use everything Hillary and Bill did/said about President Obama 2008 primaries to show he is really just being nice, bring up her campaign debt being paid off as reasoning for her support of him in the GE, he will imply that she got the SOS as a pay off to not primary President Obama in '12, he will use her awful judgments as his SOS and how he wasn't all in on Libya. All done in that ugly underhanded way only Trump can do.
These are just some of the things Trump will use to drag Hillary through the mud....I can imagine some of the ads that will run just on the above...all in that dirty underhanded way of Trump + Republican party...nasty folks.

(12,958 posts)I don't think 'solidifying Obama's legacy' is gonna be a big seller in the general election.

(8,419 posts)Trump, the outsider, needs to run on a vision. That is fucking laughable. Hillary needs to play the middle, drone on about nothing, while promising not to rock the boat. What issue could she propose to turn Republicans or Progressives. She will throw out some B.S. and try to sway some righties, she will ignore the left. If I didn't live in a safe blue state I would likely spend 10 minutes staring at her name on the ballot prior to voting for her, walk out, buy a six pack, and guzzle it down.

(3,072 posts)It isn't looking too good. May 12th-16th
Trump 46%
Clinton 43%
Oh, wait, sorry. That should say
McCain 46%
Obama 43%
Silly me, I found a poll from mid-May 2008 showing the democratic front runner falling behind the republican nominee.

(62,265 posts)It was the late primary nastiness that caused him to dip. Same with Clinton. History is repeating itself

(149,516 posts)What you've said, esp. this, is bedrock: Either we adjust and work with the progressives or we keep losing elections.
Thank you!
On edit: I see that this is your first post! And it's a good one. Welcome to DU!

(8,419 posts)I wished I shared your optimism. I just don't see her reaching out to the left. If I was an advisor to her, I would recommend against it unless it was something extremely bold. Reason being, I'm not sure if she would come across as sincere.

(8,419 posts)Hey, she will win the majority of delegates. A lot of factors in play, she cleared the field, basically ran against one person, and will win.

(12,081 posts)Eventually voters will get numb to that argument and either vote for someone else or stay home. If the choices are Trump or Hillary voter turn out will be very low. How long does the Democratic party want to be known as the party people hold their noses for? Is that really something the party aspires to? Is that really what the Democratic party wants to be? How low will the bar go? How uninspired do the people have to be? It's just all so sad and pathetic.

(3,089 posts)She will be a fantastic President and sway many people to there corner once she is able to get her plans into operation. Everyone who was skeptical of her when she entered the Senate has said they had the highest regard for her once they got to know her and to work with her. And this was from the right as well as the left.

(8,419 posts)Hey, I don't care for her, but if I have a choice between a shit sandwich or a Big Mac, and I am starving, I'm pulling into McDonalds. Haven't had to do that in thirty years. But I'm not going to state there is no difference between the two.

(11,833 posts)I hope we can mend the divisions between leftists and liberals and mainstream democrats, and deliver many more liberal people in Congress too.

(504 posts).....so many undemocratic rules. Why the hell don't we just leave it to popular vote, and allow everyone to vote with the party they please?
The establishment has made up these rules over the years, and it's tearing our country apart.
