Andrew Jackson

Last night during the debates Newt said, "Andrew Jackson had a pretty clear-cut idea about America's enemies — kill them."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't the only "wars" Jackson oversaw during his presidency wars against Native Americans? Which means that Newt was saying that the Native Americans should not have been dealt with through talks and treaties, but through slaughter.

Honestly, WTF?

Jackson would be pleased with the man who acts rather than the faux historian who talks.

The battle of New Orleans was fought after the US and Britain ended the war. So Newt wants to hold up futile battles as an example for policy?

After the battle, Jackson arrainged to have all of the British prisoners of war executed. Perhaps this is what Newt was referring to.

In fact, from listening to the last dozen or so Republican debates, you'd think there never was a President named George W. Bush!!

This next election is not pitting President Obama against Andrew Jackson.
It's pitting President Obama against George Bush's 3rd term!!

They want to go back to doing what Bush was doing, as soon as they possibly can.
