(2,353 posts)And it also points out that this ain't over yet. Sanders strongest base of financial support is coming from California. Also the New Jersey poll that came out has him down but New Jersey allows independents to vote in the primary if they declare that day and the poll also had a low youth turnout in it which is not accurate based on all the primaries thus far having youth turnouts closer to 2008 levels and in some states even surpassing that.

(2,353 posts)This is about the future of the progressive movement. I will stand with him and fight the establishment to whatever end
griffi94
(3,733 posts)It's a primary election where the winner goes on to
be our nominee.
There are two candidates.
Hillary and Bernie.
Bernie is losing.
Bernie will not be our nominee.
He's losing by enough delegates that he can'r catch up now.
Hillary will be our nominee.
Bernie campaign is only a failure in the sense that he will not be the nominee.

(2,353 posts)When we end up with a Drumpf presidency then maybe you'll get the point, but probably not... You'll just wail on about Nader comparisons
griffi94
(3,733 posts)because you feel he's more electable.
Allow me to point out.
That's not how primaries work.
Hillary is ahead of Bernie by hundreds of delegates and
millions of votes.
So the majority of primary voters feel like she's the best choice
for our nominee.
If she loses in the GE to Trump.
Well that will be a bummer.
But it will be because Trump got more votes.
That's how elections work.
Hard to make the argument that Bernie would be the best Democrat to be the nominee when he can't win the primary.
No chance the primaries get overturned on the opinion
of Bernie supporters that only Bernie can win.
Bernie lost.
He's not going to be the nominee.
GeorgiaPeanuts
(2,353 posts)That the only reason to keep fighting for and supporting Bernie is in the hope he is nominee, our support transcends this corrupt DNC party and this election cycle, it is the building of a new progressive movement to undo the horrific damage DINOs and turd way Democrats have wrought upon our society

(11,945 posts)You seem to be hung up on win/lose with no thought whatsover about what it all means, so let me remind you that your "team" has not yet won.
Got that, player: Hill has not won.
Plus: your "team," if it were to win, would lose to Trump, so then you could join Trump's "team." Rah rah.
Additionally, your "team," due to its recklessness and lawlessness, just might end up under indictment.
Wouldn't that be interesting?
Go team!
griffi94
(3,733 posts)No path for Bernie now.
There aren't enough contests left for him to
close the gap.
Hillary will be our nominee.
Sorry
senz
(11,945 posts)Doesn't have the nomination.
Live with it, sports fan.
She'll be the nominee.
Then onward to the GE.

But I agree with your assessment. I used to think Republicans were the ugliest things on the planet.

(27,813 posts)The order in which states hold their primaries has no impact on the overall race.
Had the southern states that Hillary swept voted in the second half rather than the first, one could claim that her support was skyrocketing, while Bernie's was declining.
In the end, it's all about votes and delegates. When in the schedule those votes are cast is irrelevant to the outcome.
I can't believe this actually has to be explained on a website where people consider themselves well-versed in politics.
