11. I think the OP makes a good point.

It's an obvious point, but I'd argue it's also necessary to make it in this climate. You and your partners own and operate this site, and I freely acknowledge that you can do what you want with it. But you're very aware that out on the rest of the Internet, people want to talk about Trump, Clinton, and Sanders--and so they are, and they'll continue to after the date in June that you've set.

And while I've seen several posts seeking clarification on what will and won't be permitted, I can't be the only person who thinks in terms of just skipping the general election season here and participating in forums where I don't need to worry about overzealous members thinking they're doing your bidding by finding people who need to be banned. I don't want to play brinksmanship games. I don't want to find out how far is too far. I want to participate.

However this turns out, DU has been my Internet home for 16 years, and I've had a lot of enjoyable and valuable conversations here. So thanks for hosting me at your place all these years. I really do appreciate that.
