I used to come here for hope.

Now we come here to fight. I'll admit I have engaged in it. Maybe we all should just start with this, I'm sorry. I apologize for every jab, every time I really didn't listen, every time my blood started to boil as I typed a reply, every time I took something as the unvarnished truth instead of waiting for the actual story. Every time I decided the other view was illegitimate. I'm sorry.

Every time I passed up a really good post in favor of replying to an obnoxious one.

I'm fascinated with why we tend to turn toward the negative, when there's so much positive out there.

Whenever I read a really negative post I try and imagine someone else out there who isn't thinking like that. There's many people like that here. Keep posting good folks.

Great post!

5. Another side of this question, is -- why, once having turned attention toward the negative --

do some become negative in response?
Do they see it as a choice? or not?

We are energetically/magnetically drawn to what is similar to ourselves,
usually to parts of our unconscious or hidden selves.

The ugly subfloor basement rooms of our psyche hold much garbage.
Ideally the psyche should be kept clean. It's not designed for long term
storage of old garbage. You can pretend the garbage isn't there, but
there will be flies and roaches saying otherwise.

Some people are so full of garbage they can not contain themselves
when even moderately provoked. An overfull storage bin can handle
very little extra on top. It only wants to throw up, be empty, feel
clean inside.

We are the generators of hope. If we don't get it from inside, we're draining it from others.
Like the fish in the water is thirsty. Inside of us there is a bottomless OCEAN of hope, the real deal.

It's the kind of hope that can't be dashed; it just pops right back up again.

They push and push and push in order to get you to fight. They are the worst types of people I have ever been exposed to. DU has neen on this path for years now. I recall several other purges of the left. This will be the biggest to date, by the looks of it. Let them have their right wing discussion board and party. That will not deter us.

7. The tone for dissension was set by some of the previous DU 'heroes'.

From 'Peace-of-shit user car salesman' to 'Stockholm Syndrome' to advocating for third-party votes. Those foul-mouthed, intellectual thimble-heads are gone now but their techniques -be as shocking and vitriolic as possible to get noticed- were taken up by some of the more easily swayed.

But even echoes fade over time.

Now I just drive by to troll. Apologize for what? I have listened long enough to know I'm not buying what they're selling. Waiting' for the hammer to drop.
