WASHINGTON President Obama, after months of sitting on the sidelines of the rancorous contest to succeed him, is now ready to aggressively campaign for Hillary Clinton, starting with a formal endorsement of her candidacy as early as this week.
The White House is in active conversations with Mrs. Clintons campaign about how and where the president would be useful to her, according to senior aides to Mr. Obama.
Advisers say that the president, who sees a Democratic successor as critical to his legacy, is impatient to begin campaigning. They say he is taking nothing for granted.

He wasn't an attack dog when they had that 64 day majority
he wasn't an attack dog when harry reid showed what a spineless, useless, piece of jello he is?
he wasn't an attack dog when LIEberman was holding up the dems when they had that razor thin majority?
so tell me WHEN has Joe Biden been worth a damn except for honest opinions when he thought the mic was off?

(613 posts)I highly doubt Mr. Obama will endorse Clinton before she actually wins the nomination. That would be a very biased and unprofessional thing for him to do, and would likely alienate nearly half of the Democratic Party.
Love how this article cites "senior aides to Mr. Obama" instead of actually giving names.
This article is just more Clinton campaign spin.

Even though she was actually slightly ahead in the popular vote.
Now, in 2016, she's 3 million votes and hundreds of pledged delegates ahead, not including super delegates.
Of course Obama is going to endorse her, very soon after she has the majority of pledged delegates -- which will be tomorrow.
Stories ran saying Obama would endorse last week. Still no word from Obama.
It would be highly unusual for him to endorse her before she's actually the nominee. It would be seen as political interference by a sitting President. Totally unethical.
So far, some folks are saying Obama will endorse, but they won't even give their names. He may endorse eventually, but he will endorse whoever the Dems nominate.
However, neither Clinton nor Sanders have enough delegates to secure the nomination before the convention, so don't hold your breath.

(30,247 posts)In 2008 when Obama won the nomination, Hillary campaigned tirelessly for him. It was noted at the time that she made more campaign stops for Obama than any other candidate had made in the past for a former opponent. I think that she appeared on her own in over 75 events between June and election day. Bill was also all over the place. I look forward to seeing Obama, and hopefully Michelle too, on the campaign trail.
Trump won't know what hit him. So many intelligent people going after his narcissistic backside.

(1,214 posts)Hillary got Iraq vote wrong, and Libya and Syria too. If she were setting the policies, what would they look like?
...So, more than a dozen years after the Iraq War votewhich shes finally semi-apologized forthe vote itself is less important than the broader framework in which she cast it, how she explained herself, and how shes acted since. What really matters about her decision back then is what it tells about how shed try to shape the future. With Rand Paul all but disappearing from sight, the GOP is now unified in its commitment to war, war, war. They will fight fire with gasoline until the last oil well runs dry. If theres going to be any learning from past mistakes, any chance at all, its entirely up to the Democrats.
So what are the chances with Hillary? Not very good, Id argue. But they can only improve by better understanding past mistakes. So lets begin with her Iraq War vote and how she justified it at the time. Here are the main problems that jump out from it:
Clintons mind was far removed from the terrorist threat that made the Iraq War even conceivable in the first place. Her Senate speech (video/text) ran almost 2,500 words, but she never mentioned terrorism even once, and mentioned terrorists just three times:
He [Saddam Hussein] has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members, though there is apparently no evidence of his involvement in the terrible events of September 11, 2001.
Once the battle is joined, however, with the outcome certain, he [Saddam Hussein] will have maximum incentive to use weapons of mass destruction and to give what he cant use to terrorists who can torment us with them long after he is gone.
Secondly, I want to insure that Saddam Hussein makes no mistake about our national unity and for our support for the Presidents efforts to wage Americas war against terrorists and weapons of mass destruction.
The last quote simply echoes the neocon conflation of rationales. Its not about actual terrorists at all. The second quote is also primarily about WMDs; the unidentified terrorists are an imagined afterthought. The first quote, therefore, is the only realistically al Qaeda-related reference Clinton made in justifying going to waralbeit as a last resort. She made no attempt whatsoever to talk about the larger context of responding to 9/11. She was essentially silent about what should have been the utmost concern. This wasand remainsher most fundamental mistake.

Maybe you can get your congressperson to offer Articles of Impeachment against him in the House of Representatives. Since I am an empathetic, helpful, and thoughtful individual I will provide you with the appropriate contact information for him or her if you provide me with his or her name.
