I thought the Sanders' teams goal was to deny Clinton a majority of the pledged delegates by winning

big tomorrow.

Their chances of doing that are exactly the same tomorrow as they would be the case had tonight's announcement not been made.

So why are Sanders folks saying their supporters in California are not going to vote? Was I wrong? The goal wasn't to win the pledged delegate count but simply to hold down Clinton's margin of victory?
