Bwahhhaaahaaa. 5 Republican Senators now refusing to support/vote for Trump.

Ben Sasse (NE) was the original Never Trump guy.

A few days ago Lindsay Graham has unendorsed him.

Susan Collins is refusing to commit to supporting him and only saying she does not "ancticipate" voting for Hillary

Mark Kirk unendorsed him today.

And Jeff Flake (AZ) said "As of now, unless he changes significantly, I can’t see myself voting for Donald Trump,” Flake told reporters, according to Bloomberg News, on Tuesday."

Has this EVER happened before in a general election? They cover the ideological spectrum inside that party--Sasse is extremely conservative, Kirk/Collins from what passes for moderates in that party.

He was a governor.

What "came to mind" was the highest ranking member of a party to condemn presidential candidate of said party.

In Zell Miller's instance, it was a governor.

In the case of Joe Lieberman, it was a senator.

Although if you want to split further hairs, Lieberman had been elected for that term as his own party.

He was the 79th governor of Georgia from January 14, 1991 to January 11, 1999.

He was a Senator from July 27, 2000 when he was appointed to the job until January 3, 2005 when he finished the term.

I think Cruz sticks to Never Trump, unlike Rubio, which is looking like a smart play for the future.

A disgrace to Georgia, to the southern Appalachian culture, and to humanity. If I didn't prize it so highly, I'd consider cutting of the hand that voted for him in election after election, first as Lt. Governor and then as Governor of Georgia. Never mind...his reward is waiting for him.

Surely I see the dilemma...we have same on on the Democratic side...but does this all lead to the negative voting of a seriously flawed candidate to accede to President of the US?

I think we will see and experience things we never dreamed of, given the white hot emotions that are flowing, the absolute circus that is evolving, an energetic social media and the political system that seems to be Slouching Toward Bethlehem. *

I still cling to Solomon's wisdom ... nothing new under the sun.

1) Clinton is not a racist, unhinged, utterly uninformed fascist buffoon
2) there's zero Democrats of any relevance whatsoever refusing to support her against Trump

Trump is just uniquely unqualified and unsuited for the office--there's never been a less credible major party nominee in our nation's history.
