To the swarm already replying to this, Bernie Butter on brockoli is too unappealing. Not biting.

11. How is that even possible? Doesn't early voting refer to the people who voted early?

Meaning before the AP called it?

At any rate, there is no evidence that Bernie supporters were any less inclined to vote than Hillary supporters. In fact, there is no evidence that voter turnout was down at all.

I tend to think that Hillary was hurt the most. Sanders supporters still turned out to make their statement.

I could just as easily point out that New Mexico closed a lot and argue that was because a lack of early voting and the early AP call.

Of course, we don't know for sure. But either way, it is silly IMO to attribute the early call to a shift of more than a point or two. The result in CA looks like a landslide.

13. Californians started voting on May 9

A large proportion of the voters - over half - are permanent vote-by-mail voters. They got their ballots automatically in early May. Voters can also vote early in person at their county registrar's office, or, in some counties, other locations.

I haven't found the information for the few other counties I looked at, but the official website for the Santa Clara County registrar (that's Silicon Valley) shows that a third of the mail-in ballots were received as of yesterday. As long as they're postmarked by today, mail-in ballots will still be accepted over the next few days. And for some reason, a lot of people like to get a mail ballot and drop it off at a polling place.

You don't need to be old to get a mail-on ballot.
