(15,429 posts)Fine, only other choice is to move to the right and pick up votes from the center.
There isn't time to fuck around over some sore losers. Fuck 'em.

(1,495 posts)what he has been saying. HRC is GOP-Lite. Do you really want that? It might be easier if she moved to the left, and promised to become more progressive.

(15,429 posts)Fine, the only choice is to move right and pick up votes from the center.
They are pushing the party to the right with their promise to withhold their votes. There is no other choice.

(1,495 posts)for Clinton, she can move to the left some more. Support things like more inclusive healthcare, lower tuition costs, those types of things and really mean it. Do not pander like Obama did.

(11,330 posts)yes, she could be like bernie and say things are possible which have 0.01% of occurring...even less if the bernie or busters don't grow up

(3,089 posts)Bernie said that Hillary called him and he congratulated her. SHE CALLED HIM obviously to reach out. Why didn't he call her for achieving such an historical milestone? Makes him look very small and nasty.

(8,311 posts)The people there were chanting Bernie or Bust. He said it wasn't about "Bernie" and echoed Hillary's slogan about standing together. That was the most this crowd was ready for.
He emphasized that "the struggle continues" -- and I think that's going to be his exit theme. "I am not the struggle, you are the struggle. Only when you stop fighting for the vision of America we see does the struggle end."
Well played, Bernie. Sincerely.

(19,558 posts)That was to be expected, he's had a bad night against Hillary after all. Which means by extension all his supporters have, too.
He's working his supporters, and trying to keep them engaged. Which is what any politician would do in his place at this point. The last thing he wants to do is anger them, or make them feel disenfranchised in anyway. Which he did not do.
He also congratulated Hillary tonight. That was laying groundwork, I think.
Baby steps. He has to move slowly and be respectful of his supporters. No thinking person expected him to concede, or act like he'd lost tonight. He has to go slow and be thoughtful here if he's going to keep his coalition together under his guidance.
"Forward to Philadelphia" can mean a lot of different things.
I think his words are about to change. Ignore what the media says and focus on his words. What he says is what's going to actually matter going forward.
Give him and his supporters some space to reconcile the situation to the campaign.

(2,550 posts)Tonight wasn't some huge surprise. They are only grieving because Bernie has been lying to his supporters for months.
What a joke this year's primaries have been.

(36,017 posts)Not all people who fight for the greatest good for the greatest number are lying when they don't get the chance to implement their programs.
You insult millions by saying they've been dupes. They know what they want and he's fought for the power to work with them to get it.
Seriously? Can you just stop with the pejoratives?

(6,974 posts)Are like those who booed when Sanders mentioned Hillary's name.
I got several very nice calls from friends who are Bernie supporters who said it's time to pivot to Hillary in the GE, and that they can't WAIT for Hillary to take the bark off that orange, dead, sap of a tree Trump
I am wondering how his meeting with Pres. Obama will go this Thursday. He has a right to sit at the table and have good input express his ideas for the party moving and to try to see where he and the party have common ground etc. But what he doesn't have the right to do is try to over-play his hand and ask for TOO many concessions. After all, she is the Dem Nominee and Hillary's quite literally the leader of the Dem party now. We'll see on Thursday.
