Breaking the glass ceiling at the Presidential Mansion by Hillary Clinton, the former Senator from Wall Street .... if she wins the nomination at the convention. And if Clinton can somehow beat Donald Trump given her ton of baggage and the enormous dislike and mistrust of her by most people.

(9,001 posts)Your state board of elections has a long list of possible presidential candidates from a variety of parties.
I have a strong feeling that there will be an uptick in the votes for 3rd party choices. ....speaking from experience.
missingthebigdog
(1,233 posts)the above poster asserted that Trump would need 15% of Bernie's supporters to vote for him.
To the extent that a vote for a third party is a vote for Trump, I stand by my post. True Sanders supporters are not going to risk a Trump presidency.

(1,446 posts)ladder. We all dream of this kind of success, and frankly, it is one of the most motivating promises of America.

(2,054 posts)A quarter of a million bucks per speaking engagement to corporate and Wall Street interests doesn't come easy.
"We all dream of this kind of success, and frankly, it is one of the most motivating promises of America."
Most of us don't dream of becoming a filthy rich corporate CEO or Wall Street tycoon.
So your dream is to become a big time capitalist player on Wall Street or with big business is your dream?
I've never been interested in joining their class. I've always preferred making an honest living without exploiting and taking advantage of people. Your dream is a nightmare for most working class people around the world.
But, she worked hard for the money.

(10,164 posts)Yeah...she "worked" her list of billionaires and investment firms pretty damn hard.
Oh, and you're a candidate for "most ironic user name" here. Go you!

(11,076 posts)......not so cool. Laughing at the death of dead dictators, not good but a step up. Defying the orders of the President she served under ( Obama not her husband)....not cool at all. Looking past the personality of a candidate is very dangerous and we are all about to witness the results of that. Success without integrity is ......priceless.

After that, I live in low income housing, and yes, people love to treat you like shit because of your address. I married my wonderful husband, put up with crap in the Army, and now he is a COL...and will retire next year (fingers crossed on that), so yes, I moved up in the world....but because of said world, I voted for Hillary.

It might speak well to those who disapprove of someone born without a silver spoon in HER mouth who just keeps pushing, and working, and collaborating, and unifying, and working, and working until she becomes successful and keeps reaching for a higher goal.

Inane and petty criticism.
Herman4747
(1,825 posts)...spoke on income inequality? How much does Hillary really care about income inequality when she spends $12,000 on a jacket instead of spending $300 or less and donating the rest to charity? How do you think the electorate would react to someone speaking on income inequality while wearing a $12,000 jacket?
Consider the people who lived to serve humanity. People like Albert Einstein, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jr., Eleanor Roosevelt, and Albert Schweitzer. Do you think any of them would spend $12,000 on a jacket?
This may be news to you, but Mr. Trump is not a Democrat; we have no input over the Republicans regarding who is the best candidate for them to put forward. We do, however, have some say with regards to putting forth the best Democrat. You yourself, if you choose to do so, may be able to persuade Hillary to withdraw her candidacy in favor of someone who is truly liberal. Hillary is, alas, not a liberal -- she runs from that term.

(15,805 posts)No Democratic nominee can ever be:
1). enormously rich privileged (Sorry all you wealthy old guys like FDR, Kennedy, Johnson).
2). white woman (Sorry, little girls and young women, stay in the kitchen where you belong).
So, we're left with just a nominee who must be someone without money, non-white, male... who might be qualified?

(15,805 posts)Some by small degrees, and others with huge, insurmountable gaps, these youngish men clearly have something against women. The charge stands as they don't seem to have any problem if a man does the same thing they think Hillary is doing.
Perhaps, there might be any number of reasons why they resent women, and maybe they don't yet see -- by omission or deception -- that crippling prejudice within themselves. The would explain the vituperative denials despite the stark evidence in their own words.
Women of enormous power and prestige, women of great stature who are assertive, outspoken, and extremely confident, cocky and intelligent women, are a terrifying threat to the general order of a paternalistic and authoritarian society like ours. That's not an excuse for continuing the sexism and bigotry aimed at women for the 'crime' of not being a man.

(7,581 posts)About how the moneyed and professionals Dems like Hillary because populist ideas are a threat to them. They think that the plebes are going to take all of the houses and toys and cars away. Even the upper middle class resists him for this reason. Which is why we have Democratic presidents who give bailouts to the richest Americans while allowing PayDay loans to continue in their criminal form.
