That'll work!

(5,737 posts)Or, they are saying that they will vote for Trump. Bill ain't beggin' ya or kissing your ass.
Kelvin Mace
(17,469 posts)Isn't that the lesser of two evils? Kiss ass or Trump presidency?
Seems to me that if Sanders' supporters are supposed to swallow their ethics, pride and dignity, then Bill Clinton can do the same.

(17,469 posts)If HRC supporters, including former former presidents think that it is party above all else in order to win at all costs, then they can bloody well pucker up.
Personally I haven't asked anyone to kiss my ass, but it certainly wouldn't kill HRC supporters treat me like a human being and be polite.
If THAT little bit beneath your dignity, you need to stop preaching "pragmatism".

(7,581 posts)Hillary is smart enough to court Bernie voters. I think Bill is losing it. What a stupid thing to say.

(60,536 posts)Former President Bill Clinton did not mince his words when Bernie Sanders supporters heckled him during a campaign event for Hillary Clinton.
If I were them, Id be screaming too because they know they will be toast by election day, Clinton said, according to a Fox News reporter at the event.

(7,820 posts)It's still a totally counterproductive and insensitive remark aimed at people whose votes you eventually want to win over. Not as bad as tea party left comments, but divisive and unnecessary.

(13,218 posts)Do they need to be patronized?
Gore1FL
(21,104 posts)Patronized? No. they shouldn't be antagonized, however.
TDale313
(7,820 posts)I can't believe that's a concept that needs to be explained.

Gore1FL
(21,104 posts)That sounds so very much like an adult point of view.

(58,785 posts)Bernie's supporters are the kind of people who would go heckle an ex-president? That'd be quite an insult to all, when only a few deserve it, as Bill Clinton obviously felt.

(23,591 posts)And even if he did say that, so what. It's Bernie that wanted to steer the Titanic into the iceberg. So maybe he should have said ice cubes instead of toast.

I wasn't the one arguing about respecting some used to be office holder or even a present one, if you aren't in the military one is not obligated to respect and/or be obsequious toward a sitting President much less a former.

Agreed, Bill has gone batty. He'll be padding around the White House thinking he's the prez again. You'd think he'd want to be as far away as he could from the scene of his past trials and troubles.

(13,877 posts)The thoughts of Bill Clinton, loose in the WH, with little or nothing to do...plus a little dementia. The press will be all over it, IMO. So what could possibly go wrong.
That's about the only area I feel sorry for HRC.

(5,198 posts)and like me, even though they may not like me, I support everyone's human and civil rights and right to representation. We have gone after blatant corrupt practices that endanger us all.
The Clintons and supporters on the other hand, have spent precious time and money character assassinating us and attacking us, and ignoring all of the vital issues of the day, and shifting any possible discussions away from fighting corruption.
It sure has been a learning process for us. Censoring the truth will not make it go away.
