Pro-Sanders, DNC Protesters Booking, Selling Out South Jersey Campgrounds

Cherry Hill, NJ
By TOM DAVIS (Patch Staff) - June 9, 2016 10:23 am ET

Hundreds of pro-Bernie Sanders protesters at the Philadelphia-based Democratic National Convention in July have locked up reservations at local South Jersey campgrounds.

Two campgrounds in South Jersey have already sold out their tent and RV sites, according to one of the lead organizers of a social media group called Occupy DNC Convention.

Timberlane Campground in Clarksboro and Old Cedar Campground in Monroeville are full, Laurie Cestnick, a Boston-area neuroscientist and a leading organizer of protests planned during the DNC week of July 24-28 was quoted as saying on NBC Philadelphia.

Also, South Jersey campground called Four Seasons is next on the list of sites for protesters' temporary tent cities, Cestnick said.

Four Seasons has about 400 camp plots, which makes it larger than the other two. Old Cedar and Timberlane are in Gloucester County. Old Cedar is roughly 25 miles from the Wells Fargo Center and Timberlane is about 16 miles from the sports complex, according to NBC Philadelphia.

Rather than a genuine interest in a global issue.

The truth just set you free.

PS - Tell me again how'd that work out? Sanders lost the NY Catholic vote by 25 points, last I checked.

A trip can have more than one purpose -- is this something you are capable of understanding?

And as to pandering for votes from the religious, Hillary's an old pro:

Also, Hillary and Bill have historic and long-standing ties to the African-American community. Contrasted to Bernie, who dipppd his toe briefly into a Catholic affair in a (failed) attempt to snag more votes.

He thinks the nomination was stolen from Bernie and he's more worked up than I am. I'm ready to move on and would rather be inside the convention hall if I could get tickets.

Goes to show how upside down this election cycle has been.

The voting rolls did not some of voters who were listed as registered on the LAVote website.

A lot of voters were being given the pink provisional ballots. Some were and some were not eligible to vote, but the final tally will not be in until 21 days from now.

If you received provisional, pink ballot, please check with the recorder's office in your city or county. Don't let them get by without counting your vote if you were eligible to vote and given the "pink slip."

The California primary is not over. The provisional ballots will not be counted for possibly 21 days.

It may be likely that Hillary won, but just how many delegates?

We don't know.

The polling place I visited was handing out a lot of provisional ballots. We shall see.

I am pretty sure she would have an insurmountable lead in the pledged delegates even if Bernie ends up winning California (unless he ends up winning by over 70%, which is just not mathematically possible).

Are just projecting... Remember when these "poor college Bernie Bro's" couldn't come because they wouldn't have money for hotels? Well, now they find a cheaper version that involves camping... Just dusting off the Occupy tents.

Reality is, every convention ends up having a number of different protests. Remember when Bush and RNC thought it was a great idea to have the convention in NY city. Place was packed with protestors.

Instead of trying to tell the young, passionate people to "sit down, shut up, and go home", embrace them. These are your progressive fighters. They will continue pushing for those ideas that were given voice out on the campaign trail. And maybe slowly, but surely, the Democratic Party can be re-taken by the FDR types and the corporate hacks can go away, sit down, and shut up!

We rode through the night and were dropped at the subway in DC at eight in the morning. To the mall we went and spent the day with 500,000 like minded folks. By Five pm we headed back to the subway, got on the bus and rode through the night to arrive in the AM back at our cars in Columbus , Ohio. The oldest person in our group was 70. The youngest was17. Most were OSU students. It was a great experience. Worth the time and effort. Along with calling every senator I had done my best for something I truly believed in. If you care, take a chance, stand up and just do it. You will meet some awesome people!
