Donald J. Trump Retweeted Hillary Clinton
How long did it take your staff of 823 people to think that up--and where are your 33,000 emails that you deleted?

The phrase is a social media favorite. Think Kermit sipping tea. The point is to allow the emotion of the intended audience do the work. In this case, the intended audience was not Donald Trump as much as it was everyone else, particularly all those "digital natives" (I loathe PR-speak, but alas) who know all of social media's nooks and self-referential crannies.

Waiting For Everyman
(9,385 posts)social media can "love it" but I think it's stupid. All I get out of it is, it's the social media equivalent of "drop dead", which frankly I think is pretty messed up to be coming from a supposed role model. She comes off like a nasty kid, as I see it, while at the same time she's trying to say that she's the appropriate one.
Thanks, Miles. That did help.

(18,837 posts)...and I am inclined to believe it was a staffer, not Ms. Clinton...there is a "drop dead" message in there, but I think the use of a meme...something only a "Social Media insider" would know...was intended to show a greater knowledge of the workings of Social Media. In other words, Trump spews random train-of-thought messages while the Clinton campaign knows how to slice and dice with a Ginsu knife by comparison.
Something like that. An amateur versus a pro.

(373 posts)It can be used in a more lighthearted sense: http://knowyourmeme.com/photos/1133528-delete-your-account or http://knowyourmeme.com/photos/1133537-delete-your-account
But it can also be used when someone says something really offensive/over-the-top/just plain bigoted like Trump does every 10 minutes. Delete your account can be a bit more literal then.

(8,217 posts)Either way, I still don't quite get it, nor do I understand why people think it is smart/intelligent or amazing pwnage.
Then again, I don't see myself getting in to twitter.
So I guess I'll shut my mouth.
Carry on I guess.

Trump is having a very bad day today, mark my words. Between that tweet, the RNC intervention and Biden and Warren tonight, he's about to explode!!

For President spent the day engaged in a Twitter war, and then something to the effect of like really, this is our Presidential Politics and this is the best we could do?
