Becerra is outstanding. I hope he is Hillary's running-mate. He would be a great choice. (eom) StevieM Jun 2016 #5
Safe seat, too. nt auntpurl Jun 2016 #6
He's my third choice after Brown and Kaine. But, he isn't from a swing state like the others are. RBInMaine Jun 2016 #7
But he can help energize Latino voters in places like Colorado, Nevada and even Arizona. StevieM Jun 2016 #8
Being from a swing state is overrated. And we need to keep Brown's Senate seat. Lord Magus Jun 2016 #10

It might take him out of the House, but looking at the primary results in his district the runner-up is also a Democrat.

He balances Clinton well - younger, Western, different background. He won't bring in the bigot vote, but they're voting Trump anyway.

Admittedly, Trump alone provides a lot of motivation to go vote. But a little more couldn't hurt.

Becerra's only potential problem I would see is his lack of a national profile, but does Kaine really have one either?

genuinely effective in Congress? Rep. Becerra sounds like someone I'd genuinely love to have for a Congressman, but reportedly his run for mayor of LA was a complete flop and he's declining to take the "risky" step of trying for Barbara Boxer's Senate seat. Why is he considered a long shot for VEEP?
