(3,226 posts)Hillary will need all hands on deck and trashing Bernie at this point does her cause no good. Being a sore winner is no way to help our party get behind their nominee. Unless you are working for the GOP maybe you could chill a bit.

(81,855 posts)We are told repeatedly on DU that we don't know how the super-delegates will vote including multiple times in this thread. So how's it going?

Yes, there's supposed to be counting AFTER voting.

(3,226 posts)The question at hand is how to insure that the important issues that Bernie has been pushing for 40 years now becomes the hart of our party.
Renew Deal
(81,855 posts)Including Bernie who will not say he will do everything he can to elect Hillary. He says he will do everything he can to defeat Trump, but this is a lie. The first thing he could do is drop out and acknowledge Hillary won. He hasn't done that yet.

(3,226 posts)So instead of poking at Bernie supporters why not extend a open hand? What do you want the out come to be? What can you do to help us all get on the same page?
Renew Deal
(81,855 posts)He's the one causing this.

(3,226 posts)His issues are now the issues of this party, the future belongs to his supporters, Bernie has won the harts of the voters under 45 years old. Bernie has keep the flame alive for over 40 years and is passing the torch to the next generation to carry on. The political revolution is far from over it has only just started. It seem that Hillary will most likely be our nominee but she will be running on Bernie's platform and his movement shall continue to grow electing people over the next 4 years whom will work for all Americans not just the 1%

I hope he's a bigger person than me but we'll see. And I wouldn't blame him if he said that.

(30,439 posts)Bernie says he wants to go to the convention. Victory at the convention depends on how many superdelegates he can flip.
So....how's he doing on that front?

(2,054 posts)I don't count any super delegates who indicate a preference for Bernie or Clinton.
Why?
Because they are not pledged nor legally bound to any candidate before the convention.
And super delegates can vote for anyone at the convention no matter whom they might have indicated a preference for prior to the convention.
You'll just have to wait like the rest of us for the actual convention vote to determine who the super delegates favor on July 25th.

(81,855 posts)No one knows how the people that declare how they will vote will vote? It is a complete mystery?
Your argument is like saying there's no way to know if someone will have a baby just because they are 9 months pregnant. I mean, just because someone is 9 months pregnant, there is no way to know if a baby will be born, so no preperation is needed.

(30,481 posts)Many are organized and we would see lists of SD's everyday along with chances to flip individuals on that list. A target list if you will.
At this point they are just waiting for indictment which they know will be handed down shortly.
We are truly only talking about five or so posters. The numbers are that low.
I truly think those numbers are so low that we can consider them an insignificant aspect and respect the transition the majority are currently going through.

(47,803 posts)Apathy, frustration, alienation from the party message....etc. None of that is conducive to high voter turnout.
But go ahead. keep on acting like the significant number of voters and potential voters who support Bernie don't matter.

So super-delegate outreach is firmly in the hands of James Comey
Renew Deal
(81,855 posts)He's not. The non-Bernie delegates are leading by around 900 over the Bernie delegates. If something happens to Hillary it goes to Biden or maybe Warren (if she really wants it).

(6,143 posts)and regular Democrats would feel about that? Do you think there would be any electoral consequences?
Renew Deal
(81,855 posts)Voters are serious and choose from the candidates available. That's why I think the republicans dumping Trump would be significant. Most people will choose the president from the choices available. They won't be concerned with how they got there.
KingFlorez
(12,689 posts)He'd still have lost the popular vote by a landslide and the pledged delegate count. Being a winner by default is hardly "revolutionary". The entire point of his campaign was to win voters over with his message.
yodermon
(6,143 posts)candidate. Is it really a binary state, in your mind? Lost the vote = message invalidated? Look at the age of the Bernie's supporters, his "message" is the future of the party. If your view is "the loser and his supporters shall now sit down and shut up, because scoreboard" then you will have a very difficult time of it in the next 2 cycles.
Oh and as for the indictment fairy; I don't understand why you guys trust James Comey so damn much. He is fucking REPUBLICAN for chrissakes. If he doesn't recommend indictment now, he will just use the information gathered during the investigation to blackmail her during her administration. Awesome that you're ok with that. And the only reason the repukes haven't come out swinging full force on this issue (and they haven't, holy shit they have NOT) is because A) they are busy trying to unfuck themselves with donald trump, and/or B) they are just saving up for the general. Hell the House might just impeach her during the lame duck session just for grins & giggles.
Anyway, enjoy the next 4 years! Hope she has better luck convincing the repukes to work with her than Obama did.

(12,689 posts)Right now he's got to focus on trying to get ballot access for November. That's not an easy task, but it's more doable than convincing superdelegates to ignore the pledged delegate count.

(20,317 posts)And if that really seems crazy to you, then you're just out of touch. People commonly form opinions about products and brands based on their overall online presence. That means everything from forums to social media. It's kind of a big industry-- maybe you've missed it.
People have been and continue to form opinions about Hillary based on her fans' behavior online. If that's really shocking to you, then I think I finally understand why Hillary had such a hard time securing the nomination from a 72 year old, unknown Jewish socialist.

(928 posts)And feel free to call them all the names you want, but fact is people do things for very different reasons. Feelings is a reason.
Make a person feel unwelcome and they'll leave. Make enough people leave and you end up with nobody.
Why do you think one of the reasons there is such an uproar in the Republican party? They've been dog whistling for how long now and it's been accepted. But get a person who vocalizes what they only whisper and holy cow!! The same people who really believe the shit Trump spews are the people who are now denouncing him....... because he said mean things........
Get it?
