(72,790 posts)Clinton and Sanders both did a good job, imo.
And a great primary season here on DU; very entertaining.

She got more votes than he did. A lot more. She has a LOT more delegates than he does.
He has zero chance of being the nominee, because he lost and she won.
That is reality, whether you embrace it or hide from it, it's still reality.

(68,868 posts)All 50 states, all overseas territories, everyone has had their chance to vote in the Democratic primary.
And Sanders lost. He failed to win over registered Democrats, women, older voters, blacks, and Latinos.
The voting is over, he lost and she won.

(1,495 posts)Such Hyperbole. Sanders lost because he only won 6 counties TOTAL among the states of LA, AR, TN, MS, AL, GA, and SC. These all voted before March 15th and changed the race narrative. Any claims of voting fraud (Arizona was done by republicans) is to make a mockery of true voting fraud and disenfranchisement.
rhett o rick
(55,981 posts)that our election system is one of the worst in the western countries? How is my making that statement hyperbole?
Maybe you think that our system doesn't plot Big Money against the People. Maybe you don't understand Citizens United and Super Pacs. Before Hillary ran, most Democrats were united against Citizens United and Big Money in politics, but now the Clinton Wing embrace it.

You can spend all summer hoping to overturn electoral democracy, but you don't get to hold others to your anti-democratic fantasies.

(53,012 posts)The people have spoken. The problem is you think their right to do so doesn't matter, and that you should be able to determine their votes. That is precisely why I find your rhetoric about concern for "the people" so unbelievable. Advancing the people's voice means respecting their rights to make their own electoral decisions, something you refuse to do.
Anyone can claim they are operating in the interests of the people, and they all believe it. It doesn't make it so, particularly when they openly express a desire to overturn the results of popular elections.
Pity we can't recommend replies.

(55,981 posts)Millions more eligible voters didn't vote for Hillary than did.
I think our voting system ranks 23 best in the western world.
Lord Magus
(1,999 posts)There's 12,698,367 votes so far for Bernie, 102,966 for "uncommitted" and 395,749 for assorted other candidates. That's 13,197,082 for "not Hillary" vs 16,507,979 for Hillary.

The angst is palpable.
