(42,862 posts)... even if it was vetted and pre-loaded on the Tele-Prompter, he could, on a whim, decide to give his standard "when I started this campaign I was polling at 3%" speech.
If he deviated from his prepared speech, and started to rail against the party and our nominee, they should cut his microphone and open the trap-door (or elevator) at the podium.

(19,460 posts)We are ready to move forward to win an election, with or without sanders. Looks like it is going to be without and that is fine.
HumanityExperiment
(1,442 posts)you may claim 'We are ready to move forward'... but the point stands that 'ready' and 'being able to' creates a gap that would appear you are unable to cross yet.... validation is noted on the rabid posts here in DU trying to be dismissive of Bernie

(13,069 posts)I believe this this is a planned stunt to placate the Sanders supporters who are difficult to sway. The dems and Sanders are allowing the Sanders supporters to vent and to cheer on Sanders and to believe they have a "win" soon, when the dems 'concede' some issues that Sanders demanded. And then fall in line.
Just my tin-foil hat talking.

(62,269 posts)If Sanders dropped out right away and acted as if his hands were totally tied, his supporters (actual, real supporters), would've been peeved. By stretching it out and getting to the convention and having sway on the platform (which Clinton doesn't seem to have a problem with), he'll be able to basically do a mutual nuclear walk back with Clinton without damaging her.

(51,122 posts)And if you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you.
Credentials to enter the building are extremely hard to get and the recipients are well vetted.

(62,269 posts)...only to have the chair wrestled away there. You won't get guys who called Boxer a "bitch" there. It's going to be top party officials from the states.
