Senator Sanders can't drop out of the race!

The race is over. The stadium is empty the lights are off and he is the only person left on the cross country track. It is sad watching Jane standing there with Jeff Sachs (even Weaver and Devine have gone home) with their flash light and lanterns waiting for the Senator to cross the finish line.

I am sincerely sorry for the pain some of your feel at his loss. I know what it feels like. It took me a long time to get over 2008 and I will never get over 2000.
I do not however feel sorry for Senator Sanders or Mrs Sanders.

14. The "indicted" talk is utter nonsense. Time for the remaining Bernie die hards to face reality.

4. He's not campaigning for the nomination.

There's nothing "sad" about what he's doing.

He ceased campaigning against Hillary. (Or hadn't you noticed that?)

He committed to campaign in every state until the last vote was cast. He kept that commitment.

Just hours after the last vote was cast he announced that he's doing a live address Thu (tonight). Why complain about what he's doing/saying when he hasn't said it yet?

Wait 'til he's actually spoken before you pass judgment or start tossing tomatoes.

And BTW, there's nothing wrong with taking his delegates to the convention to demonstrate the depth of support for "the most progressive platform ever passed by the Democratic Party. A platform which makes it crystal clear that the Democratic Party is on the side of working people."

It is not so black and white as you seem to view it.

But maybe he’s on the right track. If he can drive a hard bargain at the convention, maybe he can help smooth the path to unity by showing his supporters that he’s won concessions. He may have more credibility with his supporters when he eventually comes around to supporting Clinton. He’s not the typical politician — in many ways. He may never run again (he’ll be 78 in 2020). So why not drive a hard bargain?

The course he has chosen is likely to maximize the number of who get behind her. And nothing he is doing now hurts her.

... land the airplane. Or dismount the tiger. Pick your metaphor.

Or maybe he doesn't even see that he is going to have to actually do either of those things. Either way, the airplane is running out of fuel and the tiger is looking hungry.

7. It's so wrong that they keep comparing this to 2008. In that race, it was very close until the end.

Here, everyone has known that Hillary had a commanding lead since March. The Sanders people...and Sanders himself...have had ample time to come to terms with reality. We are not seeing a candidate trying to accept anything. He is clearly plotting how to keep himself relevant with no consideration of the party that he used to gain his fame in the first place.

10. 2008 was practically a tie

that is why it was so hard for some of us. Depending on how you counted the popular vote you could make a case for her having won it. Donna Brazil says she did. But this was a route, not Gore/Brady but still Hillary won in a landslide and Bernie is acting like it was close. Ridiculous.
