(93,853 posts)They don't get an alternative at this point. He can either help bring them in to the Clinton campaign, or he can walk off in a huff and lose whatever Senate influence he has.

(51,122 posts)Making me sad.
Could have had a big party for his concession and to make this speech in front of an appreciative crowd.
Making me really sad.

(41,915 posts)It's very eloquent. And his ability to name the problem is unparalleled. Wish he'd work with us to fix things.

(46,179 posts)This is classic Sanders. He fights, he doesn't give up, he doesn't back down, but he does reach out to find common ground to move forward on, and things do move forward.
He made it crystal clear. One thing he's going to be working hard on is defeating Trump. He's also going to continue to reach out to people to move his progressive agenda forward, and now he's got the attention of the nation and the backing of many, many millions as he does so. That's fixing things.

"I'm taking it to Convention. And I'm going to KEEP fighting for the 99% - for a progressive agenda, against cutting Social Security, against TPP, against income inequality, FOR changes to deal with climate change, encouraging the 99% to run for local and national offices themselves - to GET INVOLVED,...etc."
Odd as HELL to see so much sneering here on "DEMOCRATIC Underground" against any of what he's saying he will go to the convention (and beyond) and fight for.
But yea...go ahead. I'm really sorry to say that it sounds more like Free Republic here sometimes than DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND.

(93,853 posts)We're not running two candidates against Trump. It's time for him to acknowledge that.

(38,613 posts)And when the new rules kick in, it will be mostly posts about Trump. Promotion of actual progressive ideals will be few and far between.

(93,853 posts)...when ALL the candidates he endorsed were running against other Democrats.

(46,179 posts)Exactly what I expected of him.
No. He did not endorse Clinton, he did not endorse neo-liberalism.
No. He did not suggest that his supporters vote Trump or 3rd party.
Yes, he spoke as a Democrat for the betterment of the Party.
Yes, he spoke of revolution, and laid the groundwork to continue.
Yes, he spoke of the urgent need to defeat Trump.
Yes, he spoke about gun control.

(7,321 posts)The Revolution Continues, but in order for it to continue, Millennials need to take the baton and run for office every where on every level.
It is what Howard Dean had worked to accomplish 2006, (so sad to see him sold out now)..
Excellent observation and point on what's become of the party down ticket, outline how the Republican party has managed to win in smaller lower level elections since 2010.. although he did not come straight out to underscore how they used gerrymandering to a great degree.
It doesn't matter, main points still stands, and I can't for the life of me understand how any single Democratic voter would disagree one iota with anything he said tonight.
That was great to hear! Thank you Coyote!

(51,129 posts)There is a new thing out today with wild and blatantly false claims, no science, no real facts, not real statistics, seemingly designed to enrage people and get them to not vote at all. They're taking advantage of the average person's ignorance on election fraud issues and trying to make them think voting is futile, and what asshats to do so while pretending they support Bernie.
