(406 posts)The Republicans will whine and cry about her just they have since 1992.
Let her bunch deal with it; going to have to hold my nose pulling the lever this time around.

(6,282 posts)So proud of our nominee.
Any negatives she may have are entirely due to RW propaganda. The Mainstream Media just loves tearing down our candidates and people unfortunately listen.

I cannot get over how Presidential she looks.

(58,785 posts)dignified, and very brief answers to people spreading negative propaganda. If nothing else maybe something like, "I feel otherwise and will be voting for her, but let's talk about something else." It's important that people who assume they're parroting universal wisdom understand that not everyone they know agrees.

(19,558 posts)She has literally decades of experience in dealing with their slime, and knows exactly what to say and do in this respect.
We just all need to pay attention to how she deals with the individual attacks and follow suit.
Originally this was something I had an issue with in regards to her as our nominee, but after watching her, and her campaign, deal with the matter the past few months I'm feeling a lot better about the matter.

(59,495 posts)When she stepped down as Secretary of State, she had a very high approval rating as did Bill Clinton. That was after they were in the public eye for more than 20 years and it was after many attacks in the 1990s and her numbers stayed high for a year after Benghazi.
Her favorability is lower now, but I think it has almost nothing to do with Republican attacks. Her numbers started to decline when she:
1) started her campaign with a book tour where in the book and in the interviews, she separated her foreign policy from Obama's.
2) Her team ran a hardball campaign - as Clintons have done in the past
3) As the email story came out and she managed it badly with answers that ended up not being completely accurate.
The first two hurt her mostly with Democrats who supported Sanders or who preferred a less aggressive foreign policy. Now, that she is the nominee, I assume that while most are unlikely to fall in love with her campaign -- they are on board. As one of my daughters said, she would vote for a moldy sandwich rather than Trump ... so she concluded "#guessIamwith her" I assume that, if polled, people like her would answer favorable ... given the constrained choice.
The second one is something that troubles many of us who were Democrats through the 1990s and remember the number of things - where corners were cut -- and where we defended Bill Clinton. Let's face it - they are high maintenance. Here, the saving grace - for independents choosing between Clinton and Trump - is that Trump is as ethically and morally challenged as they come. Where I wish she had left the emails when she left and allowed the FOIA requests to be filled and am angered that the burden fell on Kerry and Obama to handle the repercussions, this is insignificant compared to problems with Trump.
I do not intend to defend things I find indefensible. However, I HATED the uselessness of both Begala and Carville as the two most prominent Democrats on cable doing nothing but making snarky attacks on Bush, that were loved by the base and won no one who did not already hate Bush and referring to Kerry as Anybody but Bush. I will do (with much less prominence ) what I had wished they would have done then -- to look for things where I genuinely agree with Clinton ,,, and make the case based on that. On most domestic issues, she is for what all Democrats - from Bernie to Obama to Bill Clinton are for. It doesn't matter how far each wants to move -- because they all propose more than Congress will do. On those issues and the Supreme Court, I think almost all Sanders supports could make a case FOR HRC.

She made some mistakes.
So did Lincoln, FDR, Kennedy and many others
Its been lied about and exaggerated, books made up about (there are STILL) her
she gets criticized on every aspect--
that wears you down.
I think its made her stronger.
Granite strong.
President strong.
I will proudly cast my vote in November for her.

(14,881 posts)those of us who excel at pattern recognition can confirm there was no pattern to be found, anywhere, underlying any GOP totally-made-up-from-thin-air assertions. That's also why all the hacks and depositions will serve only to strengthen Hillary.

(90,538 posts)... news media that treat it as he said/she said, righties who believe it, and left of lefties who end up repeating it, and youngsters who were not born when it started and so think there must be something to it... ugh
She's still standing though.
And yes, it is up to us to speak up and speak out.

(7,809 posts)Do people really think that the media just reports and has no role in creating public perception? This is a case where Clinton's unfavorables are mentioned every 5 minutes on air, with no mention of how the unfavorables were created intentionally.
Clinton is perceived as untrustworthy because of 25 years of advertising. Same way Coors beer has become the best selling beer. Marketing and tons of advertising money. It works.
