Speaker Paul Ryan Stays Mum On Trump's Attack On Clinton's Religion

-snip-

During a press conference held by House leaders, Ryan was asked if he was bothered by Trump casting doubts on Clinton's religious ties Tuesday during a meeting with evangelical leaders.

"We don't know anything about Hillary in terms of religion," Trump said Tuesday, "Now, she's been in the public eye for years and years, and yet ...there's nothing out there. There's like nothing out there. It's going to be an extension of Obama but it's going to be worse, because with Obama you had your guard up. With Hillary you don't, and it's going to be worse."

"Does it worry you, he's going after Hillary Clinton's religion," a reporter asked at Ryan's press conference Tuesday.

Ryan grinned, clearly a bit tired of the Trump questions.

"Next question," Ryan said.

a cross necklace or anything, so clearly she has no religion.

She has made a number of statements about her beliefs since childhood being a foundation of her life and ethics. But, she's not a fundamentalist right-wing sort of Christian. She's a Methodist, and everyone knows that Methodists are all leftists and weirdos.
