(19,024 posts)Trump is still giving speeches like he's trying to convince the 45% of his party that are nuts. He has yet to give a speech that means much to most of the voters. He's going to get crazier.

(19,024 posts)Reuters/Ipsis is a well respected pollster, getting an A- rating from 538. In 2012 it was one of the very best polls, coming in 6th overall for accuracy, but it still ended up being biased towards the GOP +1.4.

(3,072 posts)Even if these polls were showing him ahead by 2 or 3 points, he would still be in serious trouble because he has no GOTV apparatus to speak of and it is way too late to get one up and running. They would need that to actually have any shot at winning. Unless he is is up by double digits, he is still going to have a difficult time winning. Of course, he appears to be down by nearly double digits, if he isn't there already.
I bet when people look back at this election, with Trump's god awful poll numbers and the total absence of a campaign infrastructure, they will say "Trump really never had any chance of winning".
