Not putting smear innuendo in the official report but allowing nasty, innuendo to be spewed by the rest of the committee is just so transparent to any thinking people. Sure, in hindsight he made a mistake staying long enough in an unsecured place for one of the many militia groups (there are way over a thousand in Libya) to mount an attack, instead of heading back to the mini-fortress all our embassies are, but he was a fine man who always did more, not less.
