Lewandowski: Star of David tweet row 'political correctness run amok'

Former Donald Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski is calling the controversy over the Star of David appearing in a Trump tweet "political correctness run amok."

"The bottom line is this is political correctness run amok. If this were to be a star next to [presumptive Democratic presidential nominee] Hillary Clinton without the cash behind it, no one would be questioning this," Lewandowski said on CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday. "This is the mainstream media reading into something," he said.

Trump on Saturday tweeted an image accusing Clinton of being "corrupt" with a six-pointed star, before deleting it hours later after it sparked a backlash.

The presumptive GOP presidential nominee’s image showed the words “Most Corrupt Candidate Ever!” on a red six-pointed star that many said resembled the Star of David, a symbol that appears on the Israeli flag and is commonly associated with Judaism.

I always mistakenly post images that are only found by taking a trip to the neo-nazi/white supremacist side of the internet. I once wrote "Happy Birthday" to someone and since they were religious, I added a cross. Turned out to be a burning cross since it is so easy to get that imagery.
