...after it became clear that it was from a neo-nazi website and that it was almost certainly meant by the creators of the image to be an anti-Semitic attack that last thing they should have done is say "its no big deal, everyone needs to quiet down!". This is a case of extreme tone deafness and narcissism. I doubt he woke up and said "let's really stick it to the Jews today" but claiming that this wasn't a massive fuckup and that we should all keep our mouths shut because Trump doesn't make mistakes is the exact opposite of what he should have done.

I'm just so glad our candidate isn't this incompetent.

There is no gray area here. Trump posted a picture from a neo-nazi website on his twitter feed and based on the source, it was likely supposed to be a Star of David, not a sheriff's badge (which would make no fucking sense). A competent campaign would apologize, admit that they made an innocent mistake, and maybe suspended someone. No, Trump's plan after posting a neo-nazi image is to double down, say its no big deal, and tell people it is their fault for being offended. God, I can't imagine why his polling numbers are the worst for a presidential candidate in the past 30 years. Its such a tight operation he's running over there.
