In 2007 I and some of my friends were at a rally for Obama in Charlotte that was outside in downtown Charlotte; the crowd was estimated to be 20,000+. A weekend or two later, he went to Greensboro, again an outside, downtown rally, with approximately the same amount, IIRC. I was at that one as well, with my niece. Both of those appearances were during GE.
