Republicans have and are really going full steam ahead on this. damn. Just an opportunity for them to repeat what the FBI claimed the other day--with TV camera's rolling.

Paul Ryan says two House committees are investigating the investigation of Hillary's emails. Also won't rule out special prosecutor

(27,813 posts)... is an investigation into the investigation that initially investigated that which proved to be not worthy of investigation.
Oh, and said investigation should waste millions of taxpayer dollars - always a nice touch.

(12,595 posts)He was supposed to find out what the Republicans wanted him to find out - and he didn't , so he will have to go.
I didn't realize Ryan was such a jackass.

that they had with President Obama, (which was reprehensible and abhorrent). I am so not looking forward to it.

(16,984 posts)Our gentleman president, with his degrees and fluid discourse, his broad smile and his warmth, is continually vilified, scorned, despised, maligned, and slandered by those who appear not to have much of any agenda beyond blocking and spiting.
We know that a President Gore or Kerry would have been treated in the same way, and don't get me started on what they have (or would have had, if Sanders were the presumptive nominee) in store this election cycle.
I'm a believer in remembering that politicians are people, and of course there are all those cross-aisle friendships (Orrin Hatch and Ted Kennedy, anyone?), but the GOP really has explored more and more territory on the dark side and doesn't look to be back any day soon.

(10,336 posts)them roundly, with the most progressive agenda in decades to boot. Because they are more than a hot mess at the moment, and because people are *hungry for it. The masses have been screwed over for 40 years now, but since 2000 we have just been creamed, much of it downright illegally, and no one has been held to account. I will be more than disappointed if our platform is milquetoast platitudes.
I am sure you are correct they would act this way with anyone, but they also have a special place for the Clintons, and I am certain we are in for a hellish term(s). With that being the case, I do hope we can get some real results (big ones, huge ones) for real people.
Universal health care is at the top of my list. I am stuck in hell, and without it, there is NO way out. No way to be free. No way to live my life on my own terms instead of beauracratic terms. Also a million other things just as important. I hope we don't squander this opportunity that is upon us. I don't see many opportunities for cross-aisle friendships resulting in anything much, but I could be wrong. In fact, I pray that beyond the politics season, those kinds of friendships, along with the fallout from November, might result in some good opportunities. Not with this current crop of critters, though.

(44,998 posts)Republicans prove over and over that they are absolutely incompetent - not only at managing finances and government but they can't even muster up an effective smear campaign. Losers.
