2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI now fully understand why Fox News hate Hillary
If Roger Ailes thinks a woman needs to do sleazy things to get ahead in 'journalism', imagine what he thinks about a woman who is about to become president.

(3,976 posts)Gender is a distant second, IMO. They hate Obama more right now, hate Bill Clinton, hate anything liberal or progressive that carries any power.

(58,785 posts)Hillary's favorability has usually been below Bill's, no matter what he did.
It then takes a major plunge in the pre-campaign and campaign period leading up to 2008. She loses and becomes SoS and it rises.
Her rating then starts another big plunge as we move toward the 2016 election. During this period right-wing character assassins never let a week go by without "reminding" the public she would be running for president in 2016 while inserting negative stories into the news stream. Bill's remains high.
And, as we know, in 2015 and 2016 Bill's favorability remains high while hers continues to downtrend while she runs for president.

(58,785 posts)The "no" was just part of my initial thought that behind it all is gender, gender, gender. Should have erased it, sorry, since we're on the same track.

(14,543 posts)I think the primary issue is the d behind her name, but totally agree her being a woman is a factor of convenience in attacking her.
Like BHO and race baiting, there is a constant, unstated mysogony to the never ending drone against her.
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)factor in not voting for her. Should have said that the biggest factor in the incredible degree of enmity toward her, unprecedented in all of history, is her gender.
JackPineRadicals has a subforum devoted to her that has far more activity (vitriolic and often completely loony) than its Bernie forum. Yes, she "wins" there too even though it's supposedly for supporters of Bernie and carrying on his revolution. Then there's the giant "old guard" of Hillary Derangement Syndrome on the right...
Btw, the JPR crowd is now eagerly waiting for Rep. Chaffetz's demand for the FBI to investigate Hillary's testimony before Congress under oath, which of course will "inevitably" result in perjury charges, while I'm praying the House remains too stupid to realize they really don't want the FBI PROVING to America once again that she spoke the truth.
